When Angel finished asking his final question and withdrew the power of Nightmare Illusion, Ma Qiusha's eyes rolled back, and she collapsed to the floor.
The mist around them gradually dispersed as well, and the little boy Kolo immediately saw his mother lying on the ground.
During his time living here, Kolo had seen plenty of death. He knew that death meant a permanent farewell. The people he admired most were his "hero" parents, but what he feared most was one day receiving news of their deaths.
And now, seeing his mother's pale face and her "tragic death," Kolo's pupils suddenly widened. In an instant, his emotions broke down.
Kolo had been terrified of the people across from him before, but now, as if he had forgotten fear entirely, he waved his harmless wooden sword and charged at them.
"You killed Mom... I'll kill you, kill you!"
With his reddened eyes, Kolo looked like a wild beast roused to fury. Yet in everyone else's eyes, he was more like a tiny kitten mewling for milk.
His reckless charge ended with him sprawling head over heels.
A large transparent pale-blue hand blocked Kolo's path. Failing to notice it, Kolo was bounced away and fell to the ground.
Yet even after falling, Kolo endured the pain and forced himself back up, intending to charge again.
Angel gave him no such chance. Magic Hand grabbed him by the cape, leaving the child kicking wildly in midair.
"Your mother isn't dead." Angel stated it plainly without wasting a word, then tossed Kolo beside Ma Qiusha.
In his frenzied state, Kolo had not heard what Angel said clearly. But when he landed beside his mother and saw her chest still rising and falling, Kolo finally "woke up."
The outburst had drained all of Kolo's willpower.
