Kael was still lost in his fantasies when a hand landed on his shoulder.

"Wake up. How could there be so many hidden gathering places?" It was Dox who spoke.

Kael said, "Why not? Residences, cellars, secret passages, underground structures—every one of those keywords, strung together, gives off an evil, mysterious air."

Dox raised his right hand and stroked his chin. "Now that you mention it, your place in the black market fits that description quite well too. And your portable cabin seems to have a cellar and hidden spaces as well, doesn't it?"

"Those are meditation chambers and storage rooms!"

Ignoring Kael's rebuttal, Dox continued, "Also, you've been to my bar. It's in a secluded location, counts as a residence, and has several levels of hidden structures underground. Put all those keywords together, wouldn't my bar give off an evil aura too?"

Kael froze. What Dox said actually seemed to make some sense.

After all, the Garden Maze had once been a city of transcendents. It seemed perfectly normal for transcendents to build secret passages within their own territory.

At that thought, Kael's excited expression immediately fell.
