"What if I refuse to tell you?"
As those words fell, the air abruptly turned silent. Though Black Earl had done nothing, everyone felt a pressure rushing head-on at them.
This was not coercion, nor were there any energy fluctuations. It was purely the oppressive force created by a wizard who had reached a certain height of power, borrowing the momentum of the world's will.
And anyone capable of borrowing the great momentum of the world's will had undoubtedly already traveled far along the path of laws. This was the road to legend.
Black Earl's sudden move was clearly a reminder to everyone. Though he had been cooperative before, they should not take that cooperation for granted. They should not forget that he was a wizard only one step away from legend.
Angel was closest to Black Earl and felt it most keenly. Moreover, Black Earl himself was directing this at Angel.
However, Black Earl had no intention of harming anyone, so Angel was not injured. His face merely turned somewhat pale.
Black Earl repeated himself blandly, "What if I refuse to tell you? What then?"
Before Angel could reply, the sound of footsteps reached his ears.
When he turned around, he saw Dox walking in with a grave expression, his cautious gaze fixed on the stone slab floating in midair.
The moment Angel saw Dox's expression, he understood what he meant.
Black Earl might be terrifying, but this was only a nose. If Dox and Angel joined hands, they might not be able to take him down, but they certainly would not be at a disadvantage.
And this plan was something Dox had discussed with Angel before they came. If a confrontation truly arose, they would deal with Black Earl together.
Looking at Dox's resolute expression, Angel secretly sighed.
