After Angel entered, the first thing he saw was Black Earl floating not far away.
Energy churned continuously around Black Earl, while Kael and Wai stood trembling in a corner some distance away.
Just as Angel was wondering what had happened, he saw the energy around Black Earl sweep toward him. It was a probing kind of energy. Even before it touched Angel, he already felt as though every inch of his body was being peered into.
Angel did not move, allowing the energy to approach.
However, the probing energy did not truly touch Angel. It deliberately skirted around him instead.
The same happened to Dox, who entered afterward. The energy did not touch him either, instead diverting elsewhere.
Clearly, everything was under Black Earl's control.
Yet even though Black Earl had not actively used the energy to peer into everyone, the pressure carried by the energy itself still made those within it uncomfortable.
Even Angel felt that way. Kael and Wai must have felt it even more keenly. The fact that they could remain standing despite their trembling was already quite impressive.
Perhaps Black Earl also knew that such a wide-ranging, deep probe would make everyone uncomfortable, so he soon drew the energy back in.
Only after the tense atmosphere in the air dissipated did Kael and Wai let out heavy sighs of relief.
Angel walked toward Black Earl. "My lord, did you find anything?"
Angel did not know why Black Earl had suddenly deployed such deeply probing energy. Perhaps he wanted to save time, or perhaps he had failed to find anything unusual about the pointed roof in the underground church and intended to wipe away that humiliation here.
Whatever the reason, Black Earl was undoubtedly the person most familiar with the interior of this building now.
