Xixia said, "Sure. Not only can I let you see it—if you want it, I can give it to you directly."
Angel watched Xixia warily. "What price do I have to pay?"
"You've already paid the price, so there's no need."
"What do you mean?"
Xixia patiently explained, "To pass through here, the rules require each person to give me a treasure. I accepted two of your meaningful coins, which count as two treasures. By rights, that would have let that little fellow from before pass through with you."
"But if you want to exchange one of those coins for something the Wood Spirit left here, I can give it to you through a trade. However, then only you may pass through. The little fellow outside will have to stay here, or use some other precious item to buy his ticket through."
"That's why I said you've already paid the price." Xixia paused. "Also, don't think of making me give it to you for free. These are the rules. I cannot defy them."
"I understand. The teammate who came in earlier didn't deliberately take out ten demon crystals. He was merely testing the lower limit for the ticket price. When the time comes to pay, he'll definitely be able to afford it. There's no need for me to pay on his behalf." Angel paused. "Still, I'm curious. Is Miss Xixia's Casket, bound by the rules as it is, only capable of selling tickets?"
"The rules I spoke of were set by the Warden, not the rules of Xixia's Casket."
As Xixia said this, she cast Angel a sidelong glance. "As for what functions my casket has, the altered sensory perception and the extradimensional space you're currently experiencing are both abilities of Xixia's Casket. But those are merely its basic abilities.
