The statue Angel had previously simulated with illusion magic had been a cute little naked boy. With a trace of mischief, he held his little brother in his hand like he was playing a prank, while a stream of water gushed from it in an arc and fell into the crystal-clear fountain.
Though the design had looked a little strange, he was still just a little kid. Even naked, he wouldn't inspire any improper thoughts.
Moreover, the master-level craftsmanship vividly conveyed the child's mischief, innocence, and purity, making people smile despite themselves.
But the statue of the peeing boy before them was different. The skin on its face had originally been smooth glazed glass with the texture of flesh, but now nearly half of its glass shell had peeled away, leaving only mottled patches of white and black.
They looked like bruises left by a beating.
And the child's mischievous smile had become somewhat sinister because of those bruises. What had once felt playful and innocent had now become a malicious, eerie grin.
Combined with the filthy black water gushing from his little brother, it could be said to bear no resemblance whatsoever to the statue Angel had conjured.
"Times change, and changes appearing here are perfectly normal," Wai said. "Besides, hadn't we guessed that the woman's statue was some kind of Hell Codex Goddess, representing judgment, while the child's statue represented slaughter?"
"Doesn't this sinister appearance make it seem even more like an executioner?"
