After Black Earl entered the Stairway of the Hanging Prison, the door in the base of the Pissing Child Statue remained open. Even their Mind Tether had not been severed.
"Did he do this on purpose?" Dox asked through the Mind Tether.
The Wise Sovereign could have shut the passage between the Stairway of the Hanging Prison and the outside world, yet he had not done so. He had even left behind a dedicated channel of communication. In Dox's eyes, that was absolutely not normal behavior.
Angel said nothing. He merely glanced at the Wise Sovereign, only to find that the Wise Sovereign was looking at him as well, the corners of his lips curled up and the eye in his brow narrowed into a slit.
Caught staring by Angel, the Wise Sovereign showed no embarrassment. Instead, he gave Angel a slight nod. Then, before Angel's eyes, he unhurriedly took out a pair of three-lensed glasses arranged in a triangle.
The glasses had gold-wire frames, with a golden glasses chain hanging from each temple.
Without the lens for the third eye, it would have been an entirely ordinary look. But now, it seemed rather bizarre... paired with the Wise Sovereign's appearance as a human youth, it was even somewhat adorably strange?
As Angel silently mocked him in his heart, a sudden sensation swept over him—the feeling that he had been seen through, inside and out.
