What was immersive livestreaming?
With that question in mind, the Wise Sovereign watched Angel and Kael enter the Stairway of the Hanging Prison.
As Angel's figure vanished, the galaxy floating around them slowly began to change. Everyone suddenly felt a sense of sinking, as if they were standing atop something soft, or within a warm quagmire. Their bodies kept sinking, sinking beneath a sweet and fervent embrace...
The sensation was not unpleasant. It even carried a lazy comfort that gradually calmed them all.
To alter the direction of one's emotions without anyone noticing—this has the flavor of Mind Illusion. The Wise Sovereign mused to himself. Although he had not outwardly sensed any drastic emotional changes, and even the Black Earl had noticed nothing, as an old monster who had been bored for ten thousand years, he was exceedingly confident in his grasp of his own emotions.
Though being unable to sense the emotional shift meant he had been affected by an illusion, the other party had definitely guided it.
It resembled Mind Illusion, yet bore none of Mind Illusion's traces. The Wise Sovereign had already had doubts about this strange type of illusion before. Now that he was experiencing it personally, he still could not detect at which step Angel's illusion had become unusual, nor where that abnormality originated.
As the Wise Sovereign pondered, the power of the illusion had completely enveloped them. It was soft and comfortable, without the slightest sense of suffocation.
Only their feet felt faintly weightless.
When that weightless sensation vanished, they fell from a not particularly great height.
In the end, everyone landed amid shattered ruins. At the center of those ruins stood two people: Angel, lazily leaning against a threshold, and Kael, staring at the crowd in astonishment with a hand over his mouth.
