The one asking was Kael. The place he referred to was a stretch of ruined wreckage. They had already searched it once before, and had found no clues at the time.
By convention, places they had already searched should not have been searched a second time. But since Angel had decided not to go up to the third level and was certain the Wood Spirit was on the second level, Kael had assumed they might be going back to conduct a more thorough search of the second level.
Yet when they passed those ruins, Angel showed no intention of searching them again. That was why Kael asked in confusion.
Angel said, "No need. If we've already searched it, there's no reason to go back."
