Angel froze for a moment, then lowered his head in confusion.
At the bottom of his cane, a vine sprouting faint green buds had suddenly coiled around it.
A vine... Angel seemed to realize something and turned to look.
There was no one behind him.
Only a long trailing vine lay there, hanging to the ground and stretching all the way up the Stairway of the Hanging Prison.
Angel raised an eyebrow as he looked at the vine, which was of unknown length and whose end could not be seen. Without hesitation, he turned and walked toward its end.
When Angel left, the vine tugged at his cane. But when Angel walked back, it slowly receded like the ebbing tide.
All that remained was the shadow of a vine budding green, guiding Angel onward.
As Angel ventured deeper into the Stairway of the Hanging Prison once more, his figure gradually vanished into the gloom.
"Why hasn't my lord come out yet?" Wai craned his neck toward the doorway.
At this point, a minute had passed since the livestream's closing ceremony. Even Kael had been out for quite a while, yet Angel had still not appeared, prompting everyone to harbor their own suspicions.
