The moment Angel finished speaking, a ripple spread across the surface of the water in the cup.
After the ripple faded, Little Treasure grunted. "Guess however you like. I won't say anything. Also, Second Treasure says you should stop asking irrelevant questions!"
Little Treasure's voice sounded no different from before. At first listen, nothing seemed unusual.
But to Angel's senses, Little Treasure was far from calm. Its emotions were a jumble of surprise, wavering, and confusion.
Those turbulent emotions had all arisen after Angel voiced his judgment.
Judging from Little Treasure's emotional feedback, Angel's guess was probably right on the mark.
Sweet Dream might indeed be incapable of waking on its own and had to be called awake by someone else.
Angel had considered this possibility entirely because Wise Sovereign had said before entering the painting that, once they were done here, Little Treasure should wake him.
That sentence had actually revealed a hint of information. At the time, however, Angel had not known what Wise Sovereign's act of entering the painting meant, so he had not thought in that direction. Later, after learning of Sweet Dream's existence, he had naturally arrived at this conclusion.
"Why do I get the feeling you're very interested in Sweet Dream?" Dox leaned close to Angel's ear and asked softly.
Dox called it a whisper, but everyone present could hear him. Upon hearing it, Wai could not help retorting, "As if you aren't interested yourself."
"Of course I'm interested. It's just that asking Little Treasure these questions is worse than directly asking Wise Sovereign later," Dox replied.
Wise Sovereign was Sweet Dream's owner, while Little Treasure had been instructed by Second Treasure not to answer. They would not get anything out of asking, so why keep digging?
