Hearing Angel's unequivocal refusal, the Wise Sovereign felt a faint regret, but he also understood why Angel had refused.
Indeed, what Angel wanted and what the Wise Sovereign sought could not be balanced at all. Moreover, Savage Cave was a colossal entity, not something Angel could decide on his own. The Wise Sovereign had originally intended to make a breakthrough through Angel first, then leave the rest to himself and slowly persuade the forces behind him.
But since Angel had refused outright, there was nothing to be done.
Although the Wise Sovereign was disappointed, he did not take it too much to heart... because Angel had never been his true target. His target was Black Earl, who was currently speaking with another Wise Sovereign in a different room.
"Cooperation?"
Black Earl looked at the youth across from him, his tone carrying a trace of disdain. "What value does Naraka City, shattered as it is now, have that would make me agree to cooperate?"
The Wise Sovereign sat cross-legged on the ground, his head lowered as he studied the winding patterns on the floor.
Just as Black Earl was puzzled, the ground suddenly began to glow faintly.
Seeing the faint light flicker across the floor, Black Earl did not react at all, because he had not smelled any malice or killing intent.
Two seconds later, the faint light gathered and finally formed a painting upon the ground.
If Angel had been here, he would have discovered that this painting was actually one of the murals from their previous room. The mural depicted a panoramic view of Naraka City.
Calling it a panorama was somewhat of an exaggeration. It merely depicted several landmark buildings.
The picture itself was not particularly remarkable, because anyone determined enough could certainly find maps of Naraka
