"You look like something is weighing on your mind?" Black Earl's voice reached Angel's ear.
The others turned back as well, looking at Angel in puzzlement.
Angel smiled faintly. "I was thinking: according to the intelligence I obtained, the Flying Skull Demon came before the Demon-Eating Flower. In other words, Flying Skull Demons should have been active nearby. But now, it seems that intelligence was wrong."
Dox said, "Errors in intelligence are normal. Besides, the Flying Skull Demon may not necessarily be here. The Underground Waterway is so vast, and Flying Skull Demons are Demonic Beasts that fly incredibly fast. It's perfectly normal for one not to linger in the same place."
Angel nodded. "You're right. A Flying Skull Demon is not a Demon-Eating Flower. A Demon-Eating Flower can remain still for long periods, but a Flying Skull Demon... even to survive, it couldn't possibly stay rooted in one place forever. I was overthinking it."
After this round of "self-reflection," Angel looked toward the narrow alley at the edge of the small square. "Let's go. The Flying Skull Demon may not be here, but the intelligence on the Demon-Eating Flower is definitely correct. It's time we paid the Demon-Eating Flower a visit."
With that, Angel took the lead toward the alley. The troubled expression from before seemed to have been swept away completely.
The others vaguely felt that Angel was acting somewhat strangely, but this was not the time to pursue such questions. They exchanged glances and, by unspoken agreement, said nothing. Instead, they followed Angel into the pitch-black alley.
They had only just entered the alley and taken a few steps when everyone stopped.
