Adanis watched helplessly as Angel destroyed the Demon-Eating Flower, frightened the Infant Spirit into immobility, then relied on a strange defensive technique to lead the humans through the Red Wax area group by group.
By the time everyone had passed through the red wax and the woven nets, Adanis had fully understood.
The Infant Spirit had violated the contract.
She did not know what force had robbed the Infant Spirit of even the courage to attack Angel, but there was no point scolding it now.
Before long, the Infant Spirit would be locked onto by the Mirror Realm and ultimately fall into the Empty Mirror Sea. Whether the Infant Spirit was clever or foolish, once it reached the Empty Mirror Sea, it would be thoroughly dismantled and cease to exist beneath the surging tides.
Adanis no longer paid attention to the Infant Spirit. Instead, her gaze locked tightly onto Angel.
"Absolutely! Absolutely cannot let him come in!" Adanis muttered, her eyes incomparably resolute.
If the Infant Spirit could not stop him, then she would go herself!
Faced with Angel, whose entire body seemed steeped in strangeness, Adanis had in fact developed a trace of wariness. Yet she was already prepared to meet the same fate as the Infant Spirit.
Besides, she did not believe Olao would stand by and watch something happen to her.
Once Olao made a move, could he still side with Angel?
Even if it made Olao hate her, she would not allow him to stand on the same side as Angel. She would not permit such a thing to happen, even if it came at the cost of harming herself.
Watching Angel and the others head toward the Clear Sky Poem Room, Adanis knew she had to act now.
