When he heard that answer, the Wise Sovereign froze for a moment. Why Sweet Dream again?
Angel had shown interest in Sweet Dream before, and now Adanis had brought up Sweet Dream as well... Could this be a coincidence?
No, absolutely not.
Adanis had known for a long time that he possessed Sweet Dream, yet she had never mentioned it throughout countless years in the past. Now, the moment Angel arrived, she suddenly brought it up. There had to be a connection between the two.
There were two possibilities. Either Adanis had somehow learned that Angel was interested in Sweet Dream and, in order to spite him, had come to borrow Sweet Dream before he could.
Or Angel and Adanis had conspired together, and Adanis had followed Angel's suggestion to borrow Sweet Dream from him.
Of those two possibilities, if this had happened before, the Wise Sovereign would most likely have believed the first—that Adanis wanted to spite Angel.
But now, having learned that Angel was still alive and had not left the Clear Sky Poem Room, another speculation arose in the Wise Sovereign's heart. Perhaps Angel and Adanis had reached some sort of reconciliation? Perhaps Adanis, to make up for her earlier encirclement and interception of Angel's group, had accepted Angel's suggestion and come to borrow Sweet Dream from him?
The guess sounded somewhat absurd. Was Adanis the sort of person willing to reconcile? She did not seem like it.
Yet perhaps because of inspiration, the Wise Sovereign found himself inexplicably leaning toward that possibility.
Moreover, if that guess was correct, there were even deeper things to uncover.
