But after taking only a few steps, Angel frowned. Though he could not sense his mind space or mobilize energy, a wizard's spiritual intuition had not vanished from him.
He vaguely felt that something around him was wrong, yet for the moment, he could not pinpoint what it was. Still, the pressure on his brow from his spiritual intuition reminded him in every way that this forest was not as simple as it appeared. Some unspeakable danger lay hidden within it.
"Where would the danger come from?" Angel rubbed his swollen brow with a finger, trying to enhance the effect of his spiritual intuition. But it had no effect at all; instead, the surging intuition gradually subsided.
Everything returned to silence, as though the danger had merely been an illusion.
Angel knew perfectly well that the pressure on his brow had absolutely not been an illusion. Something here had to be wrong. Since his spiritual intuition had fallen silent, he could only try to observe his surroundings with his eyes and analyze the source of the danger.
Were monsters lurking in the forest's shadows? Or traps left in the forest by hunters?
