But Dox swiftly returned to normal, saying in a tone that suggested he might as well confess, "Since you've discovered it, I'll be straight with you."

"I was indeed stalling for time, because... there isn't much time left for you."

When Dox delivered that final sentence, he once again assumed the inscrutable guise of a mystic charlatan. In Witch Sharon's eyes, that suited his image as a prophecy wizard. Everything before had been an act; only that last line was his true self.

Thus, that final sentence was what Witch Sharon cared about most.

"There isn't much time left for me?" Witch Sharon chuckled. "Are you saying you have reinforcements?"
