When Angel entered the small compartment, he realized that Luigi had not followed him in.
Looking back, he saw Luigi staring at the little hamster Pirus had been tormenting, his eyes filled with scrutiny.
It was not until Angel called him that Luigi gave up observing the hamster and followed him inside.
"You're interested in that hamster?" Angel asked casually.
Luigi rubbed his chin. "Not really. But I just feel that Pirus and a hamster... that combination is a little strange."
"Strange?" Angel asked doubtfully. "Wouldn't a hamster look normal anywhere?"
Luigi shook his head. "That's not what I mean. I mean this combination looks familiar. It feels like I've heard someone talk about it somewhere before..."
Luigi pondered for a while, then, after confirming that he could not remember, simply gave up.
"Forget it, I can't remember." Luigi said, "I probably overheard it by accident while others were talking. Memories like that are far too jumbled up. I can't be bothered to dig through them."
"Let's look at his wares instead." Luigi turned to the treasures the black-robed man had pointed out...
This compartment was cramped, with the walls on either side seeming ready to press in on them. Combined with the rumbling rotation of the gears outside, it felt even more confined.
Though the compartment was small, the four of them standing inside did not make it overly crowded. The reason was simple: there was nothing else in the compartment except a wooden rack.
Five soot-black wooden boxes sat atop the rack.
"These are the 'treasures' you mentioned?" Luigi frowned. "There are so few?"
The black-robed man chuckled. "There may only be five boxes, but there are quite a few things inside them."
"You may ask me for whatever you want first, and I'll retrieve it for you."
