The changes in the surroundings did not surprise Angel.
Luno had described the unlocking process in detail, so he had naturally not omitted the changes in the second lock.
According to Luno, this was the "space within the lock," a special space constructed by an Otaoan whose brain-domain entry was "Lock."
It was attached to the gate.
As long as the lock core was opened, one could leave this space.
Angel swept his mental power across the surrounding area. It looked as though they were in the middle of a boundless desert, but in truth, the yellow sand filling the distance was all a false projection.
The entire "space within the lock" was perhaps only ten meters in length and width.
Yet within that limited space, it was indeed filled with yellow sand.
The yellow sand formed a peculiar sandbox, upon which stood several hundred miniature towers of varying heights. Aside from those, there was a city of yellow sand in one corner of the sandbox.
This sandbox was the so-called Shock-Wave Lock.
Its rules were not complicated. Simply put, every tower here could transmit shock waves, but towers of different heights had different shock-wave ranges.
Some shock waves might reach one meter, while others might reach only ten centimeters.
What Angel needed to do was choose a tower as the starting point and, through the continuous dispersal of shock waves, activate tower after tower.
Once all the towers had been activated, the final dispersed shock wave had to destroy the city of yellow sand.
Only then could this lock be opened.
It sounded quite simple. In truth... it really was simple.
Although, according to Luno, the sandbox changed every day, and the distribution of towers before them was completely random.
Yet no matter how things changed, their essence remained
