Angel wanted to know what his mind monster looked like.
It was not merely out of curiosity. He could also analyze its appearance to determine whether its form had been influenced by "desire."
Angel himself could not see his mind monster. Even wearing the Eye of Vigilance did not let him see it.
If he wanted to see his mind monster, someone else would have to wear the Eye of Vigilance.
Under Angel's expectant gaze, Zero Zero Four agreed to his request.
Zero Zero Four was actually quite curious about what Angel's mind monster looked like, as well as what sort of attitude Angel held toward him.
With that thought, Zero Zero Four took the Eye of Vigilance from Angel's hand and paused with it in his palm. "Since the guest wishes to know about his own mind monster, I'll take a look."
As he spoke, Zero Zero Four put the Eye of Vigilance on his head.
When the Eye of Vigilance had been in Angel's hands, it had been a normal pair of rimless glasses. But on Zero Zero Four, perhaps to match his head-mirror head, it became a square, flat pair of glasses. The temples even floated in midair, keeping the glasses from falling off.
This new form of the Eye of Vigilance reminded Angel of the blocky little people in the Holographic Tablet game "Minecraft."
The stray thought made Angel secretly laugh to himself.
Just as Angel kept a straight face on the surface while snickering inwardly, Zero Zero Four's gaze suddenly froze, and he looked strangely at the space behind Angel.
