What shape was the spatial rift?
Hearing this question, Zero Zero Four froze for several seconds. What shape could a spatial rift have? Wasn't it just an irregular crack?
What, had human wizards somehow developed different theories for different shapes of spatial cracks?
Though Zero Zero Four was grumbling inwardly, as an outstanding merchant, he naturally did not let it show on his face. He still smiled and prepared to describe the rift's shape in all seriousness.
Just then, Angel lightly flicked out a grayish-white ball of mist, which floated before Zero Zero Four.
Under Zero Zero Four's puzzled gaze, Angel explained, "This is an ownerless illusion node. You can use your spiritual power... or your stream of consciousness, to merge into the illusion node and control it into changing shape."
Zero Zero Four sensed it briefly. After confirming that the gray mist held no hidden dangers, he began operating it.
Although it was his first time manipulating an illusion node, Zero Zero Four picked it up quickly. Since the illusion node was ownerless, he could transmit an image through his consciousness and directly make the illusion node take on the image in his mind.
In barely a few dozen seconds, Zero Zero Four had recreated the spatial rift.
He even used an illusion to display the enormous bloodshot eye that had flashed behind the rift.
Angel watched the rift within the illusion, a faint glint flashing through his eyes.
Sure enough...
It was an enlarged version of that crack.
At first glance, this spatial rift seemed ordinary. Yet unlike other spatial rifts, it did not have obvious spreading patterns. It was simply a smooth slash.
It was as though... someone had lightly scratched open space with a fingernail, leaving behind a mark.
And that fingernail-like gash was identical to
