Luigi plucked his harp strings a few times, then spoke softly.
"The road runs east; the sea and woods stretch west."
"History rides the shepherd wind; dreams carry songs of old."
"From beyond time and space, the bard Luigi offers you his song."
Luigi delivered the lines smoothly, with an elegant bearing. With his exquisite green harp and handsome, carefree face, he truly looked as though he had stepped out of a storybook.
Glaimo, at least, was momentarily spellbound.
His thoughts were already coming in fragments. He could not even stop to consider what Luigi's words meant. He only had a vague sense that they sounded beautiful, though they seemed to say nothing in particular.
But Luigi's handsome face made Glaimo overlook that small flaw.
If Luigi called himself a bard, then surely the poetic introduction he had delivered so effortlessly held some deeper meaning.
There was no need to dwell on it.
All Glaimo needed to know was that he was Luigi, a bard.
Come to think of it, bards were rare in Dawn City. In fact, there seemed to be few professional bards anywhere on the Western Continent.
They appeared more often in fairy tales...
Luigi called himself a bard and claimed his music came from "beyond time and space." He certainly did not sound like someone from the Western Continent.
Could he be from another world?
Glaimo wanted to pursue the thought, but in his current state, he could not think for long.
His thoughts were already slipping out of sequence.
Even the ideas he had just formed slowly blurred. They were like a sand painting gradually buried beneath drifting grains, until nothing remained...
