For example, if Angel wanted to contact Little Green, he could not reach her directly. He first had to know Little Green's code name, then activate the emblem within the Hermit Ring, whereupon a Hermit Society receptionist would contact Little Green on his behalf.
Only after Little Green confirmed that she was willing to talk could Angel be connected to her channel.
The entire process was not only troublesome, requiring a receptionist as an intermediary, but also offered virtually no confidentiality.
Although Little Green had not said so outright, anyone who was not an idiot could guess that transferred calls were definitely monitored by the receptionist.
Compared to the "consumption" issue, this was the greatest flaw.
