A knock sounded at the door.
"Come in." Gleipnir raised her head from her desk and looked at the visitor.
A trace of darkness flashed through her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it and pretended not to care.

The visitor was a little old man. He looked vigorous and spry, but some unknown emotion flickered in his eyes as he seemed to be secretly studying Gleipnir.
"Mr. Kaushike, did you come to see me because of Star Worm? Is he more clear-headed now?" Gleipnir asked with a smile.
The little old man was Kaushike. He appeared somewhat restrained. "Star Worm has woken up. He's downstairs... Director, would you like to see him?"
After Gleipnir had "bought shares" with Carnival Night Clown, Yusuf had publicly announced that Gleipnir was the newly appointed Director of Operations, second only to himself in rank.
Kaushike had come to find Gleipnir with another purpose in mind, but the moment he came upstairs, he learned of her appointment.
Gleipnir glanced at the files still piled high on her desk. After thinking for a moment, she nodded. "Let's go. I'll see him."
Though Kaushike led the way in front and Gleipnir followed behind, she could still sense a faint, almost imperceptible energy circling around her like a pair of eyes.
Kaushike was observing her.
With a turn of thought, Gleipnir guessed what Kaushike was thinking.
