At first, the jellyfish did move together. They were all rising toward the Skyborne White Whale.
But once they neared the enormous creature in the sky, they went their separate ways.
The jellyfish seemed to have assigned "seats." Some attached themselves to the whale's front half, others to its rear... and the one Bu Baita had chosen happened to approach its tail.
Looking around, he saw no one—only translucent blue jellyfish tentacles.
Of the twenty-four Challengers, he alone had ended up near the tail.
