From their conversation, he quickly pieced together the squad's background and tactics.
Its three members were Bei Debao, Bei Ang, and Bei Jiji, all assault soldiers in the Amber Shadow Clan's military.
Their tactics were much the same as those of the clan's other squads. They used their innate speed to keep the Golden Phantoms occupied, relied on speed-boosting gold items to evade instant-kill attacks, and fired the Wonderland item Speed Bow while retreating.
The Speed Bow had one special property: the faster its wielder ran, the more powerful its arrows became. Accuracy still took hard practice, though. Hitting a target at a full sprint was no easy feat.
In short, the Amber Shadow Clan had taken kiting to its extreme.
Each of the three would focus on one Golden Phantom. If they could kill even one first, they would break the balance and seize the initiative. The tactics themselves were sound.
The problem lay in their choice of gold items. Not every item worked with their gift for speed, and some had side effects that could prove fatal.
The leg ring Xi Laiguo had chosen earlier was one example. Not only had it failed to help him, but the mounting Golden Fear had caused him to collapse completely while running at full speed.
The Amber Shadow Clan had already found two suitable gold items. They needed only one more.
The clan's orders to North One Squad were clear: there was no need to rush a clear. Their priority was to find a suitable third gold item.
Once they had it, the North Two or North Three Squad might be able to break through in one go.
