Then he pointed to the left. "If there weren't any large mechanisms over there, then there were most likely Book Sprites."
Gray Porcelain had spent quite some time in the Echo Library, after all. His understanding of danger levels had become quite precise, and he had basically grasped the danger thresholds associated with Book Demons and Book Sprites.
Rabbit Girl said, "Both Book Sprites and Book Demons? Then we'll follow our previous arrangement. Gabriel and I will go right, Angel will go left, and Gray Porcelain—"
Before Rabbit Girl could finish, Gray Porcelain raised his hand himself. "I'll stay here and wait for you."
Gabriel glanced at Gray Porcelain. "What a coward."
Gray Porcelain pretended not to hear him.
Seeing this, Gabriel continued, "If we're going for the perfect challenge, everyone will need a maxim. Sooner or later, you'll have to face a Book Demon. Rather than panicking on the spot when the time comes, you might as well experience it first now."
Gray Porcelain muttered under his breath, "You were the one who said everyone had to hold a maxim. Maybe there's no such requirement at all. Maybe it's enough for one person to take one."
Gabriel wanted to say more, but Rabbit Girl cut him off. "Enough. Stop this pointless bickering and handle the important business first."
Rabbit Girl grabbed Gabriel's tentacle and, without giving him any say in the matter, dragged him toward the corridor on the right.
