Angel left the War Gallery.

As he walked back, he activated the Guidance Radar.

Of the three locator markers, the first was extremely thick, pointing from northwest to southeast and covering a vast area; the second was relatively thinner, pointing from northeast to southwest.

The last marker—the one that had just appeared—was incredibly, incredibly thin, pointing straight from due north to due south.

The area where the three locator markers intersected was now very small.

Angel checked it from a god's-eye view. It covered roughly a dozen rooms of varying sizes, along with two or three corridors.

And the rift was within that area.

If they were lucky, they would find it as soon as they entered.

If they were unlucky, they might need at most one more marker before they could completely pin down the rift's location.

Angel studied the map carefully and decided not to leave it to luck. They would encounter Book Sprites on the way to the rift zone anyway; he could challenge them along the way and completely seal off the rift's range of activity.

After turning off the radar, Angel returned to the fork in the road.

Gray Porcelain had already received the radar's new marker, so Angel's return did not surprise him.

"Was this Book Sprite's trial difficult? Why did it feel slower than the previous two?" Gray Porcelain asked curiously.

Angel shook his head and briefly described the trial.

When Gray Porcelain heard that it had been a combat trial—and a battle against a mechanic-based monster—he fell silent.

"Wasn't this supposed to be an intelligence challenge... Why did the Book Demons require fighting, and now the Book Sprites did too?"

Grumbling as he spoke, Gray Porcelain followed Angel into the corridor on the right.
