Root Principle and the Deal

Since he could not plunder it, he would have to find a way to trade for it.

What could he use in exchange?

Sebas sank into thought.

This "Root Principle" technique was surely the other party's core essence. Exchanging for it would definitely require paying an enormous price.

If he were still in the outside world, with sufficient resources at hand, perhaps he could have paid that price. But now he was between the rifts of an unknown world, with nothing in his hands... Then again, if he truly were outside, he would never have considered a trade. He would have simply plundered it directly.

With empty hands, how could he trade for Angel's Root Principle?

The first thing Sebas thought of was using "knowledge" as a bargaining chip.

But there were problems with that as well. Though he possessed most of the main body's store of knowledge, much of that profound knowledge was dynamically changing, without fixed answers, and involved vast formulaic calculations. Thus, accessing such knowledge required immense computational power—and computational power was precisely what he lacked most right now.

In other words, much of that knowledge was merely sitting in his head, inaccessible for use.

Nor did he believe that ordinary knowledge could be exchanged for the "Root Principle," so he was stuck at this step.

Should he ask Angel to provide computational power?

Sebas looked Angel up and down, then silently shook his head.

To his senses, Angel carried certain impenetrable secrets—most likely related to the Root Principle. But aside from those secrets, Angel's strength was plain to see.

There was no aura of energy around him, nor the outward pressure of a wizard. In other words, this body of his was probably only at apprentice level.

How could such a body provide computational power?

Difficult.
