If Jon had been here, he would probably have recognized it at first glance—it was the original skin of a famous Earth chat application.

The Crystal Instrument gave off a pleasant sound.
From the other end of the dialogue box, someone with a Mechanical Gentleman avatar sent a message: "Principal, voice recognition can now be carried out."
Angel opened the dialogue box and selected "Voice Recognition."
"Hello."
"Hello."
As he spoke, text appeared synchronously in the dialogue box.
"That's right. Just like that."

A moment later, the Mechanical Gentleman sent a new message: "Principal, I don't really understand. Why must there be recognition? Wouldn't direct voice chat be enough?"
This time, Angel did not speak through the dialogue box. Instead, he spoke directly into the air. "Because text messages can be read through at a glance, while voice messages hard-lock you for several seconds. You have no choice but to listen to the whole thing before you know what the other person is saying."
