There was not much to discuss about Sebas.
Even without Angel saying anything, everyone could guess seven or eight parts out of ten about the inside story.
For instance, Sebas had sensed that Angel possessed "new knowledge," immediately plunged into obsession and fervor, and was ultimately sealed away completely by that knowledge instead.
Such an inevitable course of events was something they all understood perfectly well, even without it being said aloud.
Thus, Angel did not go into excessive detail about the sealing. Instead, he spoke of Sebas's original self's personality, as well as the tangled love and hatred between him and his original self—which Sebas had personally told him about—and the cliques, open rivalries, and covert struggles among the various divine thoughts.
It had to be said that this more gossip-oriented content suited the atmosphere of the Tea Party instead. Everyone listened with rapt attention.
Maggie sighed. "Who would have thought Sebas was actually a 'Revolutionary Faction' member, bent on overthrowing his original self... But then again, why did the Cruel Scholar give his divine thought avatars independent consciousness? Wasn't he afraid that one day the boat would capsize completely?"
After hearing Maggie, Montedan spoke softly. "You worry about this because you are still viewing it through consciousness-centered thinking. You believe there can only be one original self, that avatars are outsiders, and that Seize Authority is betrayal."
"But is it possible that, to that Demon God, every wisp of divine thought and every avatar is himself?"
"Of course, to him, his current consciousness must be the best one."
"But if some divine thought truly managed to overthrow him and take his place, that would mean the next consciousness was already better than his current one."
"So what did it matter if he was replaced?"
