Nine stone pillars, nine images. They were: an ancient tree, sun and moon, a lone peak, rushing waters, a high tower, a dusk crow, clouds and wind, a fairy, and sunken dreams.
None of these images were particularly distinctive. If one tried to guess blindly, it would be difficult to make any connections.
But when Blanche suggested that these images might all be connected to the concept of "Dawn City," everyone worked backward from that answer and truly found new clues.
"This lush ancient tree looks a little like the one in the Sacred Courtyard within the Radiant Church," Camilo said.
When he had previously investigated information on Uriel and Glaimo, he had passed through the Radiant Church's Sacred Courtyard. There was an ancient tree at its very center.
"The ancient tree in the Sacred Courtyard seems to have been given some religious tales... I didn't pay much attention when I passed by."
Camilo stopped there, and Glaimo added, "I know that tree. They say it is a pure branch bestowed by the gods, and that the purest children must sing for it while the most devout believers water it. Then, when the apocalyptic day of eternal darkness arrives, it will become the divine tree that shelters Dawn City."
"When I was young, I went there as part of a noble choir to sing hymns. That was when the people in the church told me this story." Once he finished, Glaimo curled his lip. "But the moment you hear it, it just sounds like made-up nonsense."
The moment Glaimo finished speaking, Ligota gently tugged on his sleeve. "Brother, I can already be resurrected in the New World. Maybe that tree really does have some extraordinary power?"
