"Achoo—"
The cold wind blew in, carrying a faint bite.
Especially on this desolate long street, the wind rushing through the corridors was bone-chilling. The others were fine, but Shi En, who had only just climbed out of the river, could not help sneezing in the freezing gusts.
Rubbing his reddened nose, he remarked on how strong the wind was.
Uriel stood beside Shi En and asked with concern, "I have a winter coat in my wardrobe. Shall I have Miss Blanche bring it out so you can put on another layer?"
Shi En hurriedly waved his hands. "No, no need. I'm not cold. My hair is just wet, and the wind's making me feel a little chilled. I'll be fine later."
The clothes Shi En was wearing belonged to Uriel, which made him feel somewhat embarrassed whenever he faced him.
Uriel could see Shi En's restraint. In truth, he wanted to tell Shi En that there was no need to be so reserved around him. Shi En had saved Ligota—he could never repay that debt in a lifetime.
But Uriel also knew that saying such things would only make Shi En unable to relax, perhaps even trouble him. After all... he had lost many of his memories.
Faced with Shi En in such a state, expressing his gratitude too fervently might even frighten him.
Thus, Uriel merely nodded politely, indicating that Shi En must tell him if he needed anything.
While Shi En was commenting on the wind, Mr. Sun was also speaking of it, though his concern was entirely different.
"The wind is strong, yet there is no sign of the fog dispersing," Mr. Sun said softly.
Everyone froze for a moment, then followed his gaze toward the air above.
Sure enough, the drifting wind was clearly still
