Amid the thin clouds and mist, Beers stopped and turned to look at Angel.

Behind Angel lay the night sky and glittering stars, along with the ever-present icy wind of the plateau.

"We're already some distance from Frostwing. This place will do." Beers hovered in midair, his black cloak snapping loudly in the night wind.

Beers did not immediately explain why he had come. Instead, he remarked, "I heard the situation in the Abyss is rather unclear these days. Since you're going to the Abyss, Angel, be careful not to venture too deep."

Beers stopped at that, careful not to make Angel impatient, then shifted straight to the main matter.

"I came to find you for two reasons. Trading information on the Eternal Night Kingdom was one. The second concerns the person you asked about before." As Beers said this, his expression became somewhat solemn.

"You mean Cassini?"

Beers nodded. "That's right. Him."

"Who is he?" Angel could tell that, back on Frostwing, Beers had deliberately avoided mentioning Cassini. Angel had sensed something then—the identity of this Cassini might be rather suspicious—so he had cooperated with Beers and refrained from bringing it up.

Beers said, "Before I answer that, may I ask you a question first?"

Angel saw no reason to doubt him and nodded. "Sure."

"Could you tell me where you heard that name?" Beers asked sternly.

Beers's serious expression had already given Angel a rough idea. Perhaps this Cassini was not some fictional figure within the Anomaly Space, but someone who truly existed.
