Angel brought new apprentices to Savage Cave, gained entry to its core, and prepared to reach Sanders in the Abyss. During the Frost Moon Alliance journey, he learned that Cassini was the Time Thief and that he might be among those marked by it.

• Angel left with Duru, Feng Man, and Gu Yina, met Niloson on the way, and brought the three apprentices to the Pamiji Plateau, where Wallace assessed them and the Tree Spirit tested Ocean Rhythm.
• The Tree Spirit confirmed Ocean Rhythm’s value, and Rhein admitted Angel to Savage Cave’s core ahead of schedule while suggesting he teach classes and publish his research.
• Angel sought a way to contact Sanders, decided to travel to the Abyss with Madeleine, and visited David, Liana, and Iron Armor Granny before leaving.
• Arthur and Merlin met Pustin and Black Codex, who agreed to guide them into the Wizarding World in exchange for their help with the Dark Prison Codex.

Angel joined Sinafa’s expedition into the Abyss, traveling from Cinder Rock through the Cold Antiquity Ruins to the third layer. At the Undying Brigade’s graveyard, the group became trapped and fought its undead guardians just as Sanders contacted Angel.

• Angel helped Bruffin repair Frostwing, then escaped the Alchemy Workshop after falling asleep to a mysterious melody and was examined by the Extreme Sect.
• Sinafa led the travelers through a vortex into the Abyss, where they fought the Sickle-Wielding Blood Demon’s horde and evacuated Cinder Rock.
• Angel and Madeleine traveled with the convoy toward the Gray Overlap Zone, while Sinafa returned cursed and weakened after escaping a Goat Demon.
• Bruffin warned Angel and Madeleine that people vanished in the Cold Antiquity Ruins after hearing calls, and they reached the ancient Layer-Crossing Gate.
• The Frost Moon Alliance crossed to the Abyss’s third layer and split into groups bound for different outposts, while Angel traveled with Sinafa toward Silent Coast.

Angel and Sanders confronted secrets surrounding the Dream Wilderness, while a demon’s attack forced Watchtower Fortress to prepare for evacuation. Angel then searched Shadow Cave for Toby and found him trapped beside a giant serpent.

• Sanders arrived at the Resting Place, where Balalaika ended the cemetery’s battle and traded with him before Sinafa’s group crossed back into daylight.
• Sanders learned about Angel’s rescue of Tulas and agreed to help treat Jon, then discovered Angel had drawn his bookshelf into the Dream Wilderness and warned him to keep the realm secret after a Purger attacked it.
• Angel and Kant found a Soft-State Worm mother worm sustained by Axo’s blood essence, while Sanders and Samantha encountered the Pilgrim of Misfortune near Boundary Forest.
• Sanders told Angel that Lucas Skull had gone missing, and they suspected a greedy nonhuman had taken it as Angel learned about the Nightmare Realm’s spread and Vifit’s connection to Cassini.
• Mangimornie emerged from underground and pursued Dongla, so Sinafa, Sanders, Samantha, and Kant fought it before using Dongla’s misfortune to lure it away from Watchtower Fortress.
• As the fortress prepared to evacuate, Angel searched for Toby, traced him to Shadow Cave, and followed signs of his passage through the tunnels.
• Angel found Toby surrounded by snakes on a cavern wall, with his Gravity Veins weakening and a giant serpent nearby, and prepared to grab him and escape.
