Ch. 2161Darkflame Werewolf

Angel explored deeper into the fire domain and found an enormous Lava Lake with his destination somewhere within it. His scouting puppets revealed that the Darkflame Werewolf could detect both camouflage and Nightmare Illusion, while two more puppets disappeared into the lava.

  • Angel found a school of blackflame fish but avoided them and continued toward the area where the fire sparrows had circled.
  • At a cliff, Angel sent out twenty scouting puppets and discovered a vast, unusually calm Lava Lake beyond the smoke.
  • Angel used two scouting puppets to test whether the Darkflame Werewolf could detect them; it spotted the camouflaged puppet and crushed it with a sudden rush.
  • The Darkflame Werewolf also detected the puppet concealed by Nightmare Illusion and destroyed it with Netherflame attacks from the ground.
  • Angel concluded that the fire-element creatures could see through his concealment, then saw two low-flying scouting puppets plunge into the Lava Lake and lose their vision.

Ch. 2162Lava Lake

Angel’s scouting puppets were destroyed by dangerous fire-element creatures around the lava lake, including a giant turtle whose shell resembled the Scorched Earth. After the reconnaissance ended, Angel went to investigate in person, discovered an invisible creature in the lava, and sent Ermi to inspect it.

  • Angel watched low-flying scouting puppets vanish without warning and saw high-flying puppets attacked by swarms of Flame Tazo Worms and other fire-element creatures.
  • The last scouting puppet reached what looked like black land, but Angel saw that it was the scorching shell of a giant lava turtle before the puppet broke apart.
  • Angel ended the reconnaissance, judged that the information would help him proceed, and leapt from the cliff with Toby to continue across the Scorched Earth.
  • Angel wondered whether the Blackfire Monkey was the Fire Region’s ruler and hurried toward the lava lake, hoping it might know about Feng and the rumored treasure.
  • Angel searched the lakeshore with spiritual force, found an invisible bean-sprout-shaped fire-element creature rooted in the lava, and sent Ermi into the lake to inspect it.

Ch. 2163Elemental Self-Destruction

Angel and Ermi investigated strange tendrils beneath the Lava Lake, then confronted an intelligent fire-element sprite that mistook them for Frost Isel's spies. The sprite detonated itself, triggering a vast firestorm whose effects on the nearby Lava Lake remained uncertain.

  • Ermi emerged from the Lava Lake after a fiery-red creature attacked him, and Angel helped trap the creature beneath ice.
  • Angel viewed Ermi's memories and saw countless bean-sprout-like tendrils gathering toward the lakebed, possibly belonging to a huge elemental creature.
  • Angel decided not to investigate the lakebed further, but the frozen fire-element sprite accused him of being a spy for Frost Isel and mentioned Kalomengqisi and Demonfire Midir.
  • The sprite began elemental self-destruction, and Angel retreated several miles with Ermi as it exploded.
  • The blast shook the region and ignited a sea of fire, leaving Angel worried that the nearby Lava Lake might have been affected.

Ch. 2164Ice and Fire Clash

Angel observed the Lava Lake’s chaos being calmed by a vast network of bean sprouts and learned that a powerful fire elemental may have discovered him. When the Darkflame Werewolf attacked, Ermi froze it, but a giant flaming creature launched a strike at Angel, and Ermi met it with an ice shield.

  • Angel watched the Lava Lake erupt into fire-serpent tornadoes until bean sprouts wove into a net and calmed the lake.
  • Angel reasoned that the bean sprouts belonged to one powerful elemental and considered withdrawing after learning the names Frost Isel and Demonfire Midir.
  • A giant flaming creature emerged from the Lava Lake and fixed its gaze on Angel as the Darkflame Werewolf burst from underground and attacked him.
  • Ermi blocked the Darkflame Werewolf’s claws with an ice shield, froze it in an icy domain, and returned to Angel’s side.
  • The flaming giant leaped from the lake and swung a meteor-like fist at Angel, while Ermi raised a curved ice shield to meet it.

Ch. 2165Frost Domain

Ermi fought the Flame Giant and weakened it, but more fire-aligned creatures gathered from the Lava Lake. Ermi then unleashed his Frost Domain, freezing the battlefield as someone accused him and Angel of being Frost Isel’s spies.

  • The Flame Giant attacked Ermi with renewed force, but Ermi outmaneuvered it and froze and shattered parts of its body.
  • The Flame Giant raised a black barrier and absorbed the surrounding fire energy, temporarily recovering and launching another assault.
  • A lava giant whale, a Flame Immortal Bird, and other fire-aligned creatures emerged from the Lava Lake and approached the battle.
  • Ermi pierced the Flame Giant’s elemental core, reducing its combat power, then refused Angel’s suggestion to retreat.
  • Ermi activated his Frost Domain, transforming the surrounding region into an expanse of ice and snow.
  • A voice accused Ermi and Angel of being Frost Isel’s spies.

Ch. 2166Positioning

Angel recognized Dangros in the defeated Flame Giant and gradually narrowed down where Dangros was hiding by drawing it into commenting on the battle. Meanwhile, Ermi fought the Flame Phoenix and Lava Giant Whale, then deliberately let himself be cornered to locate the whale’s elemental core, leaving the battle poised for his next move.

  • Angel realized that the Flame Giant’s voice belonged to Dangros, who had once spoken to him at the Lava Lake, and concluded that Dangros was hiding somewhere inside the giant’s body.
  • The Flame Phoenix and other fire creatures attacked Ermi, who used refined snowflakes and Angel’s illusion to freeze or disorient them.
  • The Lava Giant Whale entered the Frost Domain, and Ermi used the two colossal creatures’ lack of coordination to keep them in each other’s way.
  • Angel inferred Dangros’s hiding place by observing what parts of the aerial battle Dangros could see and listening to its remarks.
  • As the Flame Phoenix and Lava Giant Whale began coordinating, Ermi baited them into trapping him so he could trace the whale’s energy output to its elemental core.
  • The Flame Phoenix warned the Lava Giant Whale that Ermi was about to act, and the whale spewed lava at him.

Ch. 2167A Severed Hand

Ermi defeated Gurada and the Flame Undying Bird while Angel captured Dangros, whose true form was a severed flaming hand. As Angel prepared to leave with Dangros, the Voice of the World swept across the Fire Region and immobilized its creatures and elemental energy.

  • Ermi feigned despair to draw out Gurada’s elemental core, froze it and the Flame Undying Bird, and defeated both fire creatures.
  • Angel located Dangros inside the Flame Giant’s eye and pulled out its true form, a severed hand born from Kalomengqisi’s ashes.
  • Angel learned that Demonfire Midir was many times stronger than Phoenix and decided to withdraw with the exhausted Ermi.
  • Dangros burned Angel’s hand and briefly escaped his grip, but a Magic Hand caught it again.
  • The Voice of the World spread across the Fire Region, making movement and elemental energy sluggish, and Dangros claimed the world’s will was helping its side.

Ch. 2168World Voice

Angel learned that the World Voice caused a powerful elemental tide that revived and strengthened the creatures of the Tidal Realm. As the fire-element creatures attacked during Angel’s retreat, a humanoid newcomer named Demonfire Midir appeared and was revealed as the new king.

  • Dangros explained that the World Voice would greatly increase elemental power, and Angel realized it could make the Tidal Realm far more valuable to elemental-side wizards.
  • The World Voice began, strengthening Dangros and the fire-element creatures while melting the ice that had frozen Phoenix, Gulada, and the Darkflame Werewolf.
  • Red fire rain fell and ignited the Scorched Earth, making Angel’s planned escape through the Void Illusion Gate difficult.
  • When the energy finally dissipated, Angel carried Ermi and Dangros away with Gravity Veins as the fire-element creatures charged after them.
  • Exploding fire rain blocked Angel’s route near the miniature passage, and Demonfire Midir emerged from the smoke as the new king.

Ch. 2169The Old King

Angel and Ermi faced Demonfire Midir, the current Kindling king, while fire rain and the elemental tide threatened the Scorched Earth. Ermi transformed into a fire lifeform to match Midir, and their battle spread across the sky as Angel prepared to escape.

  • Demonfire Midir attacked Ermi, and Angel learned from Dangros that the old king, Kindling Hiriya, had sacrificed itself and passed the throne to Midir.
  • Angel asked Dangros about Mirafael Feng, but Dangros did not recognize the name or know who had drawn Hiriya’s image.
  • Angel and Ermi agreed to use Ermi’s fire abilities and Angel’s Nightmare Illusion to distract Midir long enough to retreat.
  • Ermi transformed into a fire lifeform empowered by the elemental tide, surprising Dangros and matching Midir’s strength.
  • Demonfire Midir entered its own flame form and fought Ermi, setting off explosions across the Scorched Earth while both avoided Hiriya’s stone image.

Ch. 2170Savior from Beyond the Heavens

Angel learned that the old king’s earring came from a savior from beyond the heavens, whom he suspected was Feng, and used his conversation with Dangros to gather information while preparing an escape. Ermi cloaked the battlefield in dark mist and drew Demonfire Midir into fighting an illusion, allowing Angel and Ermi to slip away as a distant blaze erupted.

  • Angel protected the old king’s portrait with a force field and questioned Dangros about the earring and the Tidal Realm’s history.
  • Dangros explained that a visitor from beyond the heavens had once ended a world-ending disaster, and Angel suspected the visitor was Feng.
  • Angel learned that illusions could be detected where fire energy was absent, and that Ermi could help conceal him by controlling the elements.
  • A fireball signaled Ermi’s plan, and Angel connected his illusion nodes as Ermi filled the battlefield with dark mist formed from fire and earth energy.
  • Demonfire Midir unleashed repeated Demonfire Breaths at an illusory Ermi, then realized Angel and the real Ermi had escaped.
  • Demonfire Midir descended to search for them, but a violent blaze suddenly erupted in the distance.

Ch. 2171Kalomengqisi

Angel learned that Toby’s griffin form resembled Kalomengqisi, a revered fire griffin who had once ruled the Tidal Realm, and that this had helped turn Demonfire Midir from an enemy into a host. After hearing Kalomengqisi’s history, Angel questioned whether Toby’s resemblance alone explained Demonfire Midir’s sudden change in attitude.

  • Toby unconsciously advanced in his griffin form while absorbing the elemental tide’s fire, and Demonfire Midir waited nearby after Dangros called him an ancestor.
  • Demonfire Midir introduced himself, made Dangros apologize to Pat for mistaking him for a spy, and stopped Dangros from leaping into the lava to reach Toby.
  • Dangros explained that it believed itself descended from Kalomengqisi, and Demonfire Midir said Kalomengqisi was a true fire griffin brought from beyond the heavens by a human savior.
  • Demonfire Midir told Pat that Kalomengqisi had served as temporary king after a world-ending disaster, then handed authority to the monarchs who later emerged.
  • Pat suspected Demonfire Midir had another reason for changing its attitude and asked him what it was.

Ch. 2172Ma Gu

Angel revealed that the Flame Mark on his earlobe had been bestowed by the Flame Abyss Dragon Odecras, then learned from Demonfire Midir that the Savior who painted the old king’s image was Mirafael Feng. After explaining that he had come to the Tidal Realm to follow the Savior’s footsteps, Angel set out with Dangros to meet Ma Gu, who might know more about the Savior.

  • Demonfire Midir and Dangros sensed the powerful Flame Mark concealed on Angel’s earlobe, and Angel identified its giver as Odecras, a Flame Abyss Dragon.
  • Demonfire Midir recounted Kalomengqisi’s history and directed Angel to seek answers about the Savior from Ma Gu, its teacher and Dangros’s teacher.
  • Demonfire Midir revealed that the Savior had painted the image of Xilvya on a stone, corroborating Angel’s belief that the Savior was Mirafael Feng.
  • Angel told Demonfire Midir that he had come to the Tidal Realm to follow the Savior’s footsteps and warned that other humans might enter through the world’s gateway.
  • Demonfire Midir approved Angel’s visit to Ma Gu, and Dangros agreed to lead him there; Toby then knocked Dangros into a volcano wall when it called itself Angel’s descendant.

Ch. 2173Enhancement

During the World Voice, Toby and Ermi cultivated in the volcano while Angel replenished the Flame Mark and gathered fire elemental crystals. After the tide ended, Angel set out with Dangros to find Teacher Ma Gu, hoping to learn about Feng and find an elemental companion.

  • Toby drove Dangros off Angel’s shoulder, then returned to the magma to cultivate alongside Ermi while Angel accepted Demonfire Midir’s offer to stay in the volcano.
  • Angel let the Flame Mark absorb the World Voice, restoring its energy and revealing a torrent of flames that made Demonfire Midir watch with intense interest.
  • Angel collected fire elemental crystals until the fire rain stopped, while Demonfire Midir claimed he had gained greatly and left to enter seclusion.
  • Toby emerged stronger and sat on Angel’s head to assert his territory, while Ermi ignored his challenge and Dangros failed again to reach Angel’s shoulder.
  • Angel asked Dangros to take them to Teacher Ma Gu, and during the journey he encountered Phoenix and other curious fire creatures near the Lava Lake.

Ch. 2174Little Brother

Angel and Dangros visited the Lava Lake to meet Ma Gu, while Dangros recruited newly born elemental sprites as little brothers. Ma Gu revealed that Duroche was recovering in the lake and might soon gain intelligence, leaving Dangros distraught about losing his strongest subordinate.

  • Dangros approached Ma Gu’s lake, was bitten by one of Ma Gu’s protrusions, and sent fire through it to wake his teacher.
  • Dangros found a blue-flame slug and a smoke tadpole born from the Voice of the World, made each recognize his fire, and recruited them as little brothers.
  • Dangros used flame butterflies to reach the smoke tadpole, then explained that his little brothers could help him fight and claimed Duroche was among them.
  • Dangros failed to summon Duroche and introduced Angel and Toby to Ma Gu, who repeatedly fell asleep and had his protrusion bite Dangros.
  • Ma Gu said Duroche had recovered and made a breakthrough, and that it might soon gain intelligence; Dangros despaired that his number-one little brother might no longer accept him as boss.

Ch. 2175Ancient Green Flame

Angel and Dangros descended through Lava Lake to visit Ma Gu, encountering Dangros's many followers and the giant lava whale Gurada along the way. Before reaching Ma Gu's classroom, Dangros gave Toby a rare Ancient Green Flame as a gift.

  • Angel protected himself with Ermi's shadow shroud and followed Dangros through Lava Lake, where he learned Dangros had several hundred elemental followers.
  • Angel asked Dangros to show him its followers, hoping one might become his elemental companion, but decided to wait for news from Feng before acting.
  • Gurada approached the group, spoke with Dangros, and left after being told they were going to visit Ma Gu.
  • Angel and Dangros reached Ma Gu, whose enormous jelly-like body supported countless elemental creatures, and entered a passage leading toward its elemental core.
  • Dangros took Angel to its secret base and offered Toby an Ancient Green Flame, which Toby accepted.
  • Dangros resumed guiding Angel toward Ma Gu's classroom.

Ch. 2176International Student

Angel visited Ma Gu’s classroom inside Ma Gu’s body, where he met Yinba, an earth-element student from an allied region, and finally spoke with Ma Gu. Ma Gu began recounting Kalomengqisi’s past, explaining that his master, Mr. Feng, had left him in the Tidal Realm to uphold equality among all sides.

  • Angel entered Ma Gu’s classroom with Dangros and discovered its elemental-core lamp and Yinba, an earth-element student from the Wildstone Wasteland.
  • Yinba argued with Dangros over being called “little Yinba” and revealed that Ma Gu had taught his students about humans.
  • Dangros called for Ma Gu, who arrived and explained that the new king had told him Angel wanted to ask questions.
  • Angel revealed Toby’s griffin form, and Ma Gu recognized Toby’s connection to Kalomengqisi and discussed the nature of his flames.
  • Angel asked Ma Gu about Kalomengqisi, but Ma Gu fell asleep before waking and beginning his account.
  • Ma Gu said Kalomengqisi’s Flame of Life and Death had led Mr. Feng to leave him in the Tidal Realm as a nexus to uphold equality among all sides.

Ch. 2177At the Mercy of Circumstance

Angel learned that Kalomengqisi protected the Tidal Realm while waiting for a successor Feng had foretold, and began to suspect that he was that person. Ma Gu could not explain the successor’s purpose, but pointed Angel toward the other regions and surviving rulers for further clues about Feng.

  • Angel told Ma Gu that Kalomengqisi’s efforts had protected the Tidal Realm from future human exploitation as well as safeguarding its elemental creatures, and Ma Gu agreed the realm would eventually have to face humans.
  • Ma Gu explained that Kalomengqisi had chosen to remain in the Tidal Realm and wait for a successor, but it died after three hundred years without meeting that person.
  • Dangros suggested Angel might be the awaited successor because he had first appeared in Dangros’s territory, and Angel connected the possibility to Feng’s key and the clues he had encountered.
  • Angel confirmed that Ma Gu did not know why Kalomengqisi had waited, then learned he could search other regions for more information.
  • Ma Gu said Feng had painted portraits for the strongest figures in each region, and Angel realized the surviving figures might know more about Feng.

Ch. 2178Embers in the Graveyard

Angel learned about the Tidal Realm’s surviving elemental figures from Ma Gu, then visited the flame-lifeform graveyard to investigate Kalomengqisi’s remains. He found an essence-blood gemstone and learned that Dangros had been born from Kalomengqisi’s fire-feather, but uncovered no inherited information before they left.

  • Angel learned from Ma Gu about Frost Isel, Uranus, and Naimeicui, and identified Naimeicui as a key source of information about Feng.
  • Angel told Dangros that the Tidal Realm’s connection to the Wizarding World could not be concealed, then asked it to lead him to the place where it was born.
  • Ma Gu watched Angel and Dangros leave, then sent a spark toward Demonfire Midir while reflecting that the world’s changes had begun.
  • Angel entered the flame-lifeform graveyard and learned from Dangros that its remnant flames preserved the dead’s final memories and could lead to rebirth.
  • Angel opened Kalomengqisi’s funerary box, examined its essence-blood gemstone, and returned the relic to the grave.
  • Dangros revealed that it had been born from Kalomengqisi’s red fire-feather, but it had no inherited information to share with Angel.

Ch. 2179Token of Trust

Angel and Dangros met Big Yinba, who gave Angel a carved token to protect him in the Wildstone Wasteland. After Angel crafted a Ghostfire Butterfly as a return gift, Big Yinba offered to give him something else to help with his journey.

  • Dangros received a spark message from Little Yinba, and he and Angel went to Blazing Road to meet it.
  • Little Yinba led Angel and Dangros to Big Yinba, who had been carving a statue of Youyounu, a Ghostfire Butterfly and Dangros's underling.
  • Big Yinba explained that Mago had asked him to make Angel a token so the Wildstone Wasteland clans would not mistake him for an enemy.
  • Big Yinba carved a statue of Angel, and Little Yinba's suspicion eased after it sensed the gentle aura in the carving.
  • Angel made Big Yinba a lifelike Ghostfire Butterfly from a Ghostfire gemstone as a return gift.
  • Big Yinba accepted the gift and said he had something else that might help Angel's journey, then looked to Little Yinba for permission.

Ch. 2180Ice Flame

Angel left Ma Gu’s body and refused to reveal the door to the Tidal Realm, explaining that its location was being kept secret as protection. After Demonfire Midir accepted his answer, Angel stayed in the Fire Region and arranged to meet Dangros’s many little brothers while resting in an abandoned ice-flame cave.

  • Ma Gu asked Angel where the door was, but Angel refused to reveal its location and said the secrecy was a form of protection; Demonfire Midir accepted his answer.
  • Dangros pointed out the Flame Mark on Angel’s earlobe, and Ma Gu recognized its extraordinary power after Angel revealed Odecras’s existence.
  • Angel returned to shore and decided to remain in the Fire Region for a few days while seeking a fire elemental partner.
  • Dangros recruited a flame frog as another little brother, and Angel asked Dangros to gather its other little brothers so he could meet them.
  • Dangros led Angel to an abandoned cave once occupied by an ice flame creature, where Angel set up an illusory cottage near the entrance.
