### Beneath the pale light cast by one blue and one red moon, which filtered through layers upon layers of black leaves, crisscrossing white beams formed amid the dark forest.
Five monkey-like creatures with dark brownish-black fur leaped back and forth between several tree trunks.
They snatched at strange fruits of unknown origin, occasionally letting out sharp, bared-fang screeches or howls of pain when scratched.
Suddenly.
The black monkeys halted in perfect unison and looked toward the depths of the southern woods in surprise.
Though it was pitch-black there, their keen hearing told them that something moving at incredible speed was charging toward them with terrifying momentum.
Sure enough.
Before long, strange bursts of propulsion and sharp rushing sounds through the air became clearly audible.
The black monkeys no longer cared about the fruit one of them held in its arms. They instinctively screeched and scattered, displaying far greater speed and agility than "normal" monkeys.
[Whoosh! Thud!]
The next second, amid a piercing whistle through the air, a sharp metal anchor sank into the trunk of a large tree. Then, with the sound of a cable tightening, a figure wearing a green cloak shot forward.
He crashed through the net of moonlight and, in the blink of an eye, left the place where the black monkeys had gathered far behind him.
"Whew—"
Facing the rushing night wind and feeling the steel cable tug him forward, Levi wore a faint smile.
This was the life he wanted.
Not silently trailing behind the queen as a guard.
Still, unlike before, he no longer had his Survey Corps comrades at his back, and with only one set of Omni-Directional Mobility Gear in use, its sound felt exceptionally lonely.
But that was fine.
Levi alone was enough to match an entire Survey Corps!
