Before entering Mizong Forest, Luo Hong had guessed at the dangers within. He had considered the possibility of a pack of troublesome ancient beasts lurking in the forest, or perhaps a Savage Alien Race tribe hidden somewhere within.
Yet he had never imagined that the danger in this strange forest had been in plain sight from the very beginning.
That danger was none other than the multicolored miasma!
The ancient map showed the miasma, and it could be seen even before entering the forest. Yet none of the six, Luo Hong included, had ever taken it seriously.
Given their cultivation, they might not have been immune to every poison, but they could certainly ignore the toxicity of mere miasma.
Moreover, under their various Spiritual Eye Divine Abilities, the miasma could not block their vision. Even if they charged straight into it, they could easily emerge again.
Thus, when Miao Hu and the others planned their route, they simply disregarded the miasma, passing through it whenever they encountered it and paying no heed if they brushed against it.
At first, nothing unusual happened. The group passed smoothly through two patches of miasma in the small valley.
But when they reached the third patch, Luo Hong sensed that something was wrong. It was as if some sort of whisper had sounded within his primordial spirit.
At first, Luo Hong did not realize that the miasma was the problem. Instead, he thought they had been attacked by an ancient beast or an alien race, so he stopped where he was and tried to flush out the culprit.
Yet after the six of them swept the area again and again with their divine senses, they found no aura besides their own.
Not long afterward, Miao Hu and the others heard the whispers as well,
