"Eren, I'm sorry. I really am a Titan—the Female Titan from the time you went outside the walls to investigate." Annie could not bear it. Of all these people, Eren had always chosen to trust her.
She knew Eren's personality. Once he recognized someone as a friend, that person was definitely his friend. This outcome would surely crush him.
Just as Annie had expected, upon hearing that answer, Eren was so shocked that he did not react at all, as if he had turned to stone.
Annie sighed. She could not worry about Eren right now. Turning her attention back, she asked Armin, "So how did you find out who I was?"
"We didn't suspect you at first. It was during that expedition outside the walls..." Armin was in pain as well. He did not want to believe that his former companion had been the enemy they had faced all along.
"During that expedition, I was in Titan form from the moment I appeared until I disappeared. I never showed myself in human form. How could you have guessed it was me?" Annie frowned, looking at Armin in disbelief.
She had thought she had concealed everything flawlessly that time. Had they still seen through her?
"Back then, we only found you familiar. We never suspected you." Armin shook his head. At the time, aside from surprise, all they felt was familiarity—especially while fighting her—but they had never imagined it would be Annie.

"After we returned and saw you again, it all clicked," Su Yang said, taking over for Armin. "When we saw you in the city, we suddenly
