The Bell Tones of the Sea of Chaos

On the Cui Yan Tower Ship, Xu Ying and Yuan Weiyang had become inseparable, indulging in tender affection. For a time, they were as stuck together as glue and lacquer, finding the pleasures between man and woman utterly wonderful and no longer mentioning their journey to the Other Shore.

He did not bring it up, and Yuan Weiyang did not either. The two were remarkably in sync.

This went on for two or three years. When the Saint Sovereign encountered Xu Ying above the Heavenly Sea, he asked in surprise, "Dao Ancestor Xu, when did you return from the Other Shore?"

Xu Ying flushed. Only then did he truly decide to leave the Three Realms.

He and Yuan Weiyang parted reluctantly. He summoned Shi Tianyang, the guard general of the Other Shore ferry crossing, urged the Cui Yan Tower Ship into motion, and prepared to set sail.

The Cui Yan Tower Ship pierced the void and gradually faded into the distance. After dozens of days, it finally reached the edge of the universe, beside the Sea of Chaos.

That Other Shore Sarira Tree had grown much larger. Its branches and leaves resembled a feathered crown, lush and luxuriant, while its roots thrust into the Sea of Chaos to draw nourishment.

The tree had been planted by the two scouts aboard the Cui Yan Tower Ship. They had left imprints upon it, allowing them to determine the Three Realms' position within the Sea of Chaos.

However, those two scouts had already died, and the imprints they had left were useless.

Xu Ying moored the tower ship beside the tree and left his own imprint upon it. At once, he felt as though a part of his consciousness had become connected to the tree, allowing him to sense every root-tendril of the
