Background / History

Himeko arrives at Herta Space Station with the Astral Express crew during the Voidranger attack. Having already heard about Kiana from Asta, she immediately recognizes her, verifies that she is safe, and obtains a briefing on the emergency. Contrary to Asta’s description of Kiana as an immature and playful child, Himeko judges that Kiana already meets her standards in both ability and temperament. 2

During the station’s defense, Himeko divides the crew according to their strengths: she clears Voidrangers en route to the main control deck, while March 7th and Kiana head for the Interastral Peace Corporation. 2 After witnessing Kiana protect March during the Doomsday Beast’s last attack, Himeko helps oversee Kiana’s adjustment to the Express and later gives her space to explain the limits of her transformations. 4 7

Himeko supports Kiana’s eventual decision to become a passenger of the Astral Express. When Kiana chooses the train over remaining at Herta Space Station, Himeko accepts her as a companion while Asta promises to stay in contact. 5 335
