Chapter 313: Crisis in the Oasis
No wonder he had passed out.
Traveling through time and space actually made his consciousness and body feel out of sync.
It felt like playing a game with high latency.
Without Alice's help, he might even have suffered from severe packet loss.
High latency in a game merely meant slow reactions.
But high packet loss meant, at best, a character drifting around and a slideshow screen.
At worst, it meant getting disconnected.
Obviously, the first time, Cypher had been completely unprepared, and his consciousness had "disconnected" from his body.
After finally making it through the narrow passage between the two mountains,
Cypher set Alice down, stretched his back, kicked his legs, and threw a few punches.
Meanwhile, Alice stood to the side with her hands clasped together, silver-white light flickering at her fingertips.
She looked as though she were praying for Cypher.
But it had to be said, it really worked.
Cypher felt warm all over, and before long, he could move his body freely again.
After straightening his clothes, he walked over to the girl.
With her hands behind her back, the girl met Cypher's gaze without the slightest hint of timidity.
Cypher was the first to look away, turning his back to her.
"Let's go! You don't need to carry me anymore. You'll need to fight next, and carrying me will be inconvenient."
"Oh, and they'll ignore me, so don't worry about me."
Hmm?
Cypher was just about to ask what she meant by fighting, and why they would ignore her.
When a rustling sound came from the distant woods.
Up there...
Cypher opened his Dragon Eyes and looked up.
But then, a blinding mass of light beside him caught his attention.
Alice was radiating light, intense magical fluctuations filling his vision.
