a solid black shadow stood suspended in midair.
Maud's voice came from within that pitch-black shadow.
Brogy's eyes filled with astonishment as he stared at the corporeal shadow in disbelief.
Within his line of sight, the Hakoku he had unleashed should have encompassed both Maud's real body and his shadow.
Therefore, even if Maud switched places with his shadow, he should not have been able to evade the Hakoku coming straight at him.

Maud's voice came from within the corporeal shadow once again.
"That's only natural. Everyone has only one shadow—this is common knowledge. But I'm sorry, the common knowledge you believe in doesn't include my ability."
With that, the shadow suspended in midair began to swell like a balloon.
"If you're asking why, it might be because I'm... unusually strong."
As those slightly emotional words fell, the swollen shadow suddenly burst into dozens of palm-sized fragments.
The scattered shadow fragments took the form of arrows and flew toward Brogy from every direction like a swarm of bees.
Brogy reacted and swung his axe, trying to knock the shadow arrows down.
However, compared to Brogy's massive size, the palm-sized shadow arrows were like dozens of flies and mosquitoes circling around him. They were hardly easy to block.

Brogy could not block the shadow arrows at all.
In only a moment, the shadow arrows flying toward him passed through his axe and scattered across various parts of Brogy's body, transforming into black, graffiti-like marks.

Brogy stared in astonishment at the arrow-shaped marks on his body. He felt no pain, nor had he suffered the slightest injury.
Just as Brogy's gaze focused on one of the arrow-shaped marks, Maud appeared out
