Maud freed Jinbe and brought him and Buggy to Impel Down’s control room, determined to learn what happened to Saul. Meanwhile, Weevil fought the prison beasts and clashed with Hancock on the Second Floor, as the guards discovered Maud’s prisoners and then found him at their door.

• Maud reacted to the news about Saul, freed Jinbe by cutting his chains, and set out to question someone from Impel Down.
• Maud carried Jinbe and Buggy up the elevator shaft after learning Jinbe did not know Geppo.
• Weevil killed rare beasts on the Second Floor and fought the four recovering Prisoner Beasts.
• Hancock arrived, ignored Weevil, and fought him after he charged at her; a Prisoner Beast struck Weevil from behind, breaking its mace against his head.
• Hannibal ordered the guards to locate Maud after seeing the prisoners he had knocked unconscious, but Maud, Jinbe, and Buggy appeared at the control-room entrance.

Maud found Saul’s frozen corpse in Blazing Hell, killed Hannibal, and set out to gather shadows for his revenge on Impel Down. Meanwhile, Hancock remained locked in a stalemate with Weevil in Beast Hell.

• Maud used Conqueror’s Haki to incapacitate the prison workers, tortured Hannibal for Saul’s location, and forced him to lead the way to Blazing Hell.
• Maud discovered Saul’s frozen corpse and, after killing Hannibal, declared that he would have all of Impel Down buried with Saul.
• Maud asked Jinbe to watch over Saul’s body, then left to find shadows among the prisoners in Extreme Cold Hell.
• Hancock dodged Weevil’s powerful attacks but could neither damage him nor escape their fight in Beast Hell.
• Weevil vowed to destroy Hancock as their battle continued.

Hancock fought Weevil while trying to reach Maud, but their clash was interrupted when Maud arrived and collected the Prisoner Beasts' shadows. Maud then struck Weevil with a Conqueror's Haki-coated Shadow Evasion: Revised, leaving Weevil badly injured and confused.

• Weevil attacked Hancock after she tried to disengage, and their fight left a cut across her neck before they resumed clashing.
• The Prisoner Beasts charged at Weevil, then stopped when they sensed Maud's terrifying aura approaching.
• Maud arrived with nearly three hundred prisoner shadows in a sphere and used Shadow Slash to take the shadows of all four Prisoner Beasts.
• Maud told Weevil he was next, and Weevil charged with Tremor Slash.
• Maud coated Shadow Evasion: Revised with Conqueror's Haki, blasted Weevil through a cell, and explained that he had coated the attack with Conqueror's Haki.

Maud defeated Weevil and took his shadow, then recruited Hancock as an ally after she mistook his offer for a romantic confession. As Maud’s group prepared to leave Impel Down, the battle outside intensified, with Shanks facing Akainu and Kizaru preparing to target the Maud Pirates.

• Maud used a Conqueror’s Haki-coated Shadow Avoidance to severely injure Weevil, then severed and collected Weevil’s shadow.
• Hancock admired Maud for attacking the Celestial Dragons, and Maud asked her to become his ally; she misheard him and believed he had confessed his love.
• Jinbe and Buggy arrived, and Maud said Hancock was one of them before leading the group to leave Impel Down.
• Outside, Shanks fought Akainu, while Beckman and a braided swordsman stopped Hawk Eyes from reaching their duel.
• Kizaru observed the battle and prepared to hunt the suppressed members of the Maud Pirates.

The Maud Pirates’ fighters battled the Navy across the island fragments as Lafitte faced Chaton, Jaya fought Smoker and Hina, and Luo was surrounded by Sentomaru and Pacifistas. After a distant laser pierced Luo’s sword arm, the fight’s source remained unknown.

• Chaton knocked Lafitte from the sky, countered his attacks, and forced him to activate his Siren Hybrid Form.
• Jaya used her rock-controlling ability against Smoker and Hina, wounding both before Vice Admiral Tsuru intervened and drained some of Jaya’s stamina and Haki.
• Sentomaru revealed that the Navy had orders to capture Luo alive, and Luo teleported Bepo out of the fight before engaging the Pacifistas.
• Luo’s abilities sliced one Pacifista in half and made Sentomaru’s attack destroy another when Luo switched places with it.
• A laser from an unknown source pierced the arm Luo was using to hold his sword.

Kizaru defeated Luo and overwhelmed the pirates who tried to rescue him, while Cavendish stepped in to fight Kizaru. Elsewhere, Maud emerged from Impel Down and sent Sengoku flying across the battlefield, leaving Shiryu smiling at his captain’s strength.

• Kizaru shot Luo, then used his speed and Observation Haki to defeat him and leave him restrained by the Pacifistas.
• Bepo rushed to rescue Luo, but Sentomaru attacked him until Urouge intervened and Perona’s Negativity Ghost incapacitated Sentomaru.
• Kizaru shot Perona and badly wounded Urouge, but Cavendish arrived and challenged him, refusing to let his Shichibukai status dictate his enemies.
• Sengoku used his Great Buddha form to overpower Shiryu, while Shiryu argued that Sengoku’s age and stamina would decide their fight.
• Maud emerged from Impel Down and struck Sengoku so hard that he flew across more than half the battlefield and crashed into an island fragment.

Maud emerged from Impel Down after finding Saul dead and struck Sengoku in a fury, while the Marines continued trying to eliminate the Maud Pirates. As the Marines prepared their final weapon, Maud ordered Shiryu to destroy Impel Down and joined the battle, leaving Luo rescued but the battle unresolved.

• Maud sent Sengoku flying, and Aokiji confronted Garp after realizing the Marines had used Saul as bait and intended to kill him.
• Vice Admiral Tsuru told Jaya that she was trapped and signaled the Marines to deploy their final weapon.
• Jinbe, Hancock, and Buggy emerged from Impel Down with Saul's corpse, and Maud ordered Shiryu to bury the prison while sparing Weevil and the prisoners on the third floor and above.
• Hancock stood beside Maud, while Kizaru overpowered Cavendish and attacked Luo with a beam of light.
• Maud intercepted Kizaru's beam, destroyed the Pacifista restraining Luo with one punch, and asked Luo if he was all right.

Maud bought time for his crew to escape toward Impel Down while fighting Kizaru, and he ended the chapter by striking the admiral with a devastating combined attack. Kizaru survived but was left coughing blood as the Marines watched in shock.

• Maud destroyed the remaining Pacifistas and told Luo to head toward Impel Down while he held off Kizaru.
• Perona used her spirit form and negative ghosts to incapacitate Sentomaru, but Kizaru rescued him from Maud's attack.
• Luo teleported Urouge away from the fight and led him and Bepo toward Impel Down, while Cavendish and Perona went to help Philo.

As the Marines’ new Pacifista threatened Maud’s allies, Maud sent his Shadow Clone to rescue Jaya and prepared to face Kizaru while planning the crew’s escape.

• Maud’s attack left Kizaru badly injured and stunned the Marines, Red-Haired Pirates, Shanks, Akainu, and Sengoku with its power.
• Shanks and Akainu resumed their fierce duel, while Tsuru watched Maud’s rapid growth with concern.

• Maud absorbed 379 shadows and attacked Kizaru, overpowering his light-based sword and forcing him to retreat and defend.
• Kizaru chose to delay Maud rather than counterattack, while Maud continued restraining him to prevent him from attacking the Maud Pirates.
• Sengoku returned to the battlefield and ordered nearby Marines to help Kizaru and surround Maud.
• Hancock blocked Sengoku and the Marines, declaring she would not let them interfere with Maud despite Sengoku warning her about the consequences for her country.
• Hancock used Captive Arrow to turn more than a dozen Marines to stone, then chased the officers trying to bypass her and reach Maud.

Hancock held off the Marines to protect Maud while Jaya struggled against the new Pacifistas. Maud's Shadow Clone arrived to help, and Shusui's powerful slash cut the seemingly invulnerable machines in two, leaving the Marines stunned.

• Hancock endured Sengoku's attack and petrified Marines to stop them interfering with Maud's fight against Kizaru.
• Jaya was battered by the new Pacifistas and Marine forces, but she fought on despite her depleted stamina and Haki.
• Maud's Shadow Clone arrived with Beli, used a Gatling gun to drive the Marines back, and helped Jaya repel the Pacifistas.
• The Marines saw the new Pacifistas withstand bullets and the Shadow Clone's initial sword strikes, increasing their confidence in the machines.

Maud used Shadow Shift to support Jaya while keeping Kizaru occupied, destroying the new Pacifistas and routing the Marines in a brutal three-second assault. He switched back to Kizaru as Jaya fled toward Impel Down, with Tsuru pursuing her and Perona racing to help.

• Maud swapped places with his Shadow Clone, cleaved through the new Pacifistas, and told Jaya to head for Urouge while he covered her.
• The Shadow Clone attacked the Marines to create an opening, while Jaya used the Float-Float Fruit to fly toward Impel Down and Tsuru pursued her.
• Smoker bound the Shadow Clone with smoke, but Maud switched places with it and unleashed a Conqueror's Haki-coated slash that devastated the Marine unit.
• Maud wounded Smoker and stopped Hina's attack before switching back after three seconds to resume suppressing Kizaru.

Maud's intervention devastated the Marines' encirclement, but Vice Admiral Tsuru pursued the exhausted Jaya and nearly finished her. Several figures arrived in time to interrupt Tsuru, leaving her to face the newcomers.

• Maud routed most of the Marine elites, while Tsuru abandoned the fight against him and pursued Jaya toward Impel Down.
• Perona intercepted Tsuru with Negativity Ghosts, but Tsuru's Wash-Wash ability neutralized their effect and she continued after Jaya.
• Tsuru caught up to Jaya, knocked her from the sky, and struck her again as she struggled toward Impel Down.
• As Tsuru moved in to deliver a final blow, explosive and other attacks from unseen figures interrupted her pursuit.
• Several figures descended before Tsuru, who recognized them and recalled the Summit War.

The Straw Hat Pirates arrived to help Jaya reach Impel Down, but Vice Admiral Tsuru overwhelmed them with her Observation Haki, combat skills, and Wash-Wash Fruit ability. The chapter ended with Luffy and Zoro injured and Robin exhausted as the crew realized they could not contend with her.

• Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Franky attacked Vice Admiral Tsuru from the sky while Sanji rushed to catch Jaya, but Robin caught Jaya with her Soft Spider Web.
• The Straw Hat Pirates landed safely, and Robin explained that they had come because Maud had helped them; Bartholomew offered to escort Jaya and blocked Tsuru's Tempest Kick with a barrier.
• Tsuru charged at Jaya, but Robin restrained her with manifested arms until Tsuru used the Wash-Wash Fruit to turn them into petals and exhaust Robin.

Luffy and the Straw Hats tried to stop Vice Admiral Tsuru from pursuing Jaya, but Tsuru quickly defeated Luffy and overpowered the others. Maud arrived and sent Tsuru flying with one strike, halting her pursuit of Jaya.

• Luffy activated Gear Fourth and attacked Vice Admiral Tsuru, but she used Life Return to evade him and defeat him before his form's side effects left him unable to move.
• Garp and Aokiji paused their fight after noticing Luffy and the others; Aokiji admitted he had brought them from Thriller Bark and taught them Haki.
• Tsuru continued pursuing Jaya until Zoro, Usopp, Robin, and Sanji intercepted her, but she resisted their attacks and pressed forward.

Maud secured Jaya inside Bartholomew’s barrier and turned to confront the Marines, defeating Kizaru in their exchange before attacking Vice Admiral Tsuru. Tsuru’s attempt to drain Maud’s stamina failed, and Maud ran her through as Kizaru rushed to intervene.

• Jaya remained protected inside Bartholomew’s barrier while Maud headed toward the wounded Vice Admiral Tsuru.
• Kizaru intercepted Maud, but Maud shattered Ama no Murakumo and cut Kizaru in half with Hakoku. Slash.
• Maud left Kizaru to re-form and charged Vice Admiral Tsuru, believing her to be responsible for his elders’ suffering.
• Tsuru caught Maud’s blade and used her Wash-Wash ability to try to drain nearly all his stamina and Haki, but Maud showed no sign of weakening.

Maud killed Vice Admiral Tsuru and drove Kizaru back with Hakai, while the Marines’ losses shook Sengoku and Garp. As the fighting continued, Maud surveyed his allies’ worsening situations and prepared to help Philo and Jim first.

• Vice Admiral Tsuru died after Maud’s attack, and the experience and stamina restored Maud to peak condition.
• Maud struck Kizaru with a full-power Hakai, while Zoro charged toward the Marines pursuing Jaya and Sanji followed him.
• Sengoku saw Tsuru’s corpse and turned back to Hancock, while Garp’s grief over Tsuru’s death led him to resume fighting Aokiji.
• Maud surveyed the battered pirate crews and fish-men, identifying Philo and Jim as being in immediate danger.

Jinbe and Bartholomew held off the elite Marines while Jaya reached Impel Down, as Jim and Philo were overwhelmed by Momonga and Stokaberry. Jim refused to let Philo use her virus, but when Momonga moved to finish him, Cavendish arrived and blocked the strike.

• Jaya reached Impel Down under Bartholomew's protection, while Jinbe and Bartholomew stopped the pursuing Marines from advancing.
• Stokaberry and Momonga's forces surrounded Jim and Philo, and Jim endured their attacks while protecting her.
• Philo considered using her virus to save Jim, but Jim urged her not to abandon her principles; Philo still decided that her companion's life mattered most.
• Momonga gravely wounded Jim with Flying Squirrel Slash, but Jim forced himself to remain standing so Philo would not be targeted.

Cavendish arrived on the battlefield and fought Momonga while the marines overwhelmed Jim and Philo. Just as Stokaberry moved to finish them, black rain fell and Maud appeared, cutting him down.

• Cavendish refused to explain his resignation from the Shichibukai and launched a furious assault on Momonga.
• Momonga blocked Cavendish's attacks with Observation Haki while Stokaberry ordered the marines to focus on Jim and Philo.
• Jim took the marines' barrage while protecting Philo, leaving him gravely wounded and unable to move.
• Philo stood between Jim and Stussy as Stussy approached to deliver a final blow.
• Cavendish broke away to save them, but Momonga interrupted his charge with a sudden slash.
• Black rain fell, and Maud appeared before Stokaberry and cut through his body.

Maud used Shadow. Starfall, Flying Shadow to outpace Kizaru and kill Stussy and dozens of Marines in a rapid series of slashes. He returned to the air and told Kizaru that this was true speed, leaving the admiral grim-faced.

• Maud dodged Kizaru's barrage, blocked his close-range attack, and shattered Ama no Murakumo with a Conqueror's Haki slash that sent Kizaru flying.
• Maud scattered shadow marks across the battlefield and used Shadow. Starfall, Flying Shadow to appear before Stussy and strike her down.

Maud slaughtered the Marines surrounding Philo and Jim, defeated Momonga, and took his shadow while Cavendish briefly delayed Kizaru. With Kizaru returning and Maud determined to destroy Marine Headquarters’ core forces, the battle continued to escalate.

• Maud clashed with Kizaru, then used Shadow Shift to return to the battlefield and instantly killed the Marines surrounding Philo and Jim, leaving Momonga as the sole survivor.
• Cavendish admired Maud’s swift attack and asked its name; Maud called it the Instant Hell Shadow Kill Array, and Cavendish resolved to master a similar technique.
• Maud checked Jim’s severe injuries, then asked Cavendish to hold Kizaru back for three seconds while he attacked Momonga.

Elsewhere, the Marines pressed the Maud Pirates and Hancock, while an undercover Marine awakened in Impel Down’s Sixth Floor and began killing prisoners whose shadows Maud had taken.

• Kizaru shot Momonga to prevent Maud from gaining his shadow, but Maud harvested it first and gained the experience reward before the laser killed Momonga.
• Kizaru attacked Philo and Jim, but Maud blocked his attacks and ordered Cavendish to get them to safety; Cavendish carried Jim toward Impel Down with Philo following.
• Kizaru told Maud that Bagard was an alias and that his parents had died before revealing his D, while Maud continued fighting to keep Kizaru away from the evacuation.
• Onigumo and the new Pacifistas pushed Hawkins, Brook, and Arthur into a desperate fight, but Hawkins declared that following Maud was his best choice.
• Sengoku battered Hancock with his Golden Great Buddha form, and Jinbe asked Buggy for help as Hancock neared defeat.

After Marines inside Impel Down destroyed many prisoners whose shadows Maud had taken, Maud lost much of Shadows' Gathering Ground but continued to overpower Kizaru with Shadow Flow and Hakoku. He then spotted Sengoku driving Hancock toward Impel Down and turned his attention to the danger.

• Shiryu purged prisoners on the Fourth and Fifth Floors while Marines among the prisoners killed those whose shadows Maud had taken.
• Maud sensed his shadows dwindling, crushed the shadows of five Marine infiltrators, and retained a smaller reserve of powerful shadows.
• Maud used Shadow Flow, Twin Fish Flow to attack Kizaru, breaking his light swords and overpowering him despite his reduced strength.
• Maud and his Shadow Clone struck Kizaru with Hakoku, Barrier Breaker, sending him into the immense shockwave.
• Maud scanned the battlefield and saw Sengoku beating Hancock and forcing her toward Impel Down, which filled him with killing intent.

Cavendish and the others reached Impel Down as the Marines pressed their attack, while Luo tried to save the gravely wounded Jim. Buggy intervened in Sengoku and Hancock’s fight, but Sengoku struck him down and left Hancock on the verge of being killed.

• Jaya lured Buggy into charging at Sengoku by suggesting Maud would reward him with Captain John's treasure, while Luo began treating himself and prepared to operate on Jim.
• Cavendish asked Sanji to carry Jim and Philo to Impel Down, and Sanji brought them to Luo under Jinbe’s cover.
• Luo examined Jim and realized that his injuries would kill him without a fully equipped Operating Room, then used his remaining strength to treat him.
• Buggy hit Sengoku with a powerful Special Buggy Ball explosion, interrupting Sengoku’s assault on Hancock, but Sengoku struck Buggy away and gravely wounded him.

Maud arrived just in time to save Hancock from Sengoku, then clashed with the Buddha-form Marine leader at full strength. As Sengoku’s conviction-powered abilities let him withstand Maud’s Conqueror’s Haki attacks, Maud realized the fight would not be decided by Haki alone and prepared to kill him.

• Sengoku defeated the badly injured Hancock and moved to deliver a lethal punch.
• Maud arrived and blocked Sengoku’s attack with Shusui, then challenged him to a fight to the death.
• Sengoku launched a full-power punch, and Maud met it with a Conqueror’s Haki-infused slash.
