Goodwill and Bread
Blood Claw Camp, third floor of the Underground mall.
In a converted room in the garage, a girl was thrown to the ground like a piece of merchandise, her eyes, tinged with red, were empty, as if she were dead.
Even now, fragments of memories still flashed through her mind.
The door to my home was forcibly broken into.
The father dropped the food and rushed to meet him.
Splattering Blood Mist, psychedelic lights, deafening gunshots, and...
"Yang Tao, run!"
Those were the last words uttered by the father, who clutched his abdomen.
Someone else came into the room.
A middle-aged man around fifty years old, with a square face, bald head, and dressed in gold and silver.
"Little Zhou, is this the surprise you were talking about?"
From behind, a Horse Face poked his head out, grinning obsequiously, "Isn't that right, Master Gao?"
"This little thing is so tender and juicy, I thought Master Gao might like it, so I brought it over for you."
Master Gao is none other than Gao Fugui. Although he is not young, he is all muscle.
He is always happy without women, and he takes great pride in it.
Gao Fugui glanced at it, a smile playing on his lips, "You're so filial. Go, go to the warehouse and see if there's anything you like, take it yourself."
After the butler Zhou Ming went downstairs overjoyed, Gao Fugui glanced at the girl on the ground, circled her twice, and clicked his tongue, saying, "She deliberately cut her hair so short and messy, as if she was afraid people would find out she was a girl."
"You've lost a bit of weight, but you still have curves in the right places, not bad, not bad."
"Little girl, I am Gao Fugui. If you come with me, you will be blessed."
"At least we won't have to worry about food or clothing anymore."
He laughed and started to take off his clothes, but before he could pull his pants off, he suddenly heard shouts and screams from outside.
Then gunshots and grenade explosions rang out in succession.
Gao Fugui was stunned for a moment, then quickly put his clothes back on and flung open the door. "What's going on?"
The guards at the gate looked bewildered, unsure of what was happening. Just then, footsteps approached, and a figure suddenly rushed out from around the corner of the passage ahead.
It was the butler, Zhou Ming.
Zhou Ming, his head covered and his Horse Face filthy, ran while shouting, "Something bad has happened, Master Gao!"
"Someone has broken in, and our men can't hold them off."
Gao Fugui immediately drew his pistol. "How many people are here?"
Zhou Ming, with a bitter face, held up one finger. "One person."
"Just one?"
Gao Fugui thought he had misheard, but just then, another of his men fired a shot and retreated around the corner of the passage ahead, seemingly desperately trying to stop someone.
Suddenly, a distorted, invisible ripple flashed by, and Gao Fugui clearly saw that his subordinate, along with his gun, had been torn in two.
Immediately, the two guards by the door looked nervously at Gao Fugui.
Gao Fugui shouted, "What are you looking at me for? Go get him!"
Footsteps sounded.
Only then did Gao Fugui notice a figure walking in.
The figure wasn't particularly tall; he wore a tattered cloak with the hood pulled up.
Beneath the hat were slightly disheveled black hair, blood-red eyes, and tightly pursed lips, exuding a cold and sharp aura.
Gao Fugui's two henchmen had already fired, but the bullets were blocked by an invisible barrier. Then, light condensed in front of the man, transforming into a Wolf Beast that pounced and quickly took down the two henchmen.
Suddenly, Gao Fugui pulled Zhou Ming over to shield him, then picked up a pistol and started firing repeatedly.
The cloak billowed, and from within the fluttering cloak emerged an invisible ripple that instantly swept past Gao Fugui and Zhou Ming.
Gao Fugui's eyes widened as he saw the pistol split in the middle, followed by his own arm.
After the ripples passed, half of Gao Fugui's arm was severed. He screamed and stumbled backward, collapsing to the ground.
As the cloaked figure slowly approached, Gao Fugui finally couldn't help but exclaim, "Who are you!"
"I don't know you at all!"
"Why did you destroy my business!"
Gao Fugui couldn't understand why the person in front of him would want to slaughter his camp and even kill him, since he hadn't offended him.
Then the man uttered two words: "Yang Zheng".
Gao Fugui was stunned, looking bewildered, but then he saw that the butler Zhou Ming, who was also missing an arm, had a change in expression.
Gao Fugui immediately pressed, "Who is Yang Zheng?"
Zhou Ming's jaw trembled, and he dared not hide anything, glancing into the house. "It's... it's that girl's father."
Gao Fugui seemed to have guessed something and pressed on, "What about Yang Zheng?"
Zhou Ming lowered his head, not daring to look at Gao Fugui: "Dead... dead."
"We didn't want to kill him, but he refused to hand over his daughter, so I had no choice..."
"Son of a bitch!"
Gao Fugui, seemingly drawn by some unknown ferocity, jumped up, grabbed a pistol from the side, and fired several shots at Zhou Ming.
Then, turning to the cloaked figure in front of him, he said, "Brother, it's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding!"
"I had no idea that this bastard had done such a heinous thing behind my back."
"Ignorance is no excuse, so this isn't my fault."
But the cloaked figure showed no sign of stopping. "Your dog bit someone, and you can't just pretend nothing happened by saying you didn't know."
"Besides, it even bit someone to death."
Gao Fugui was sweating profusely. "Brother, what Yang Zheng gave you, I'll give you double, triple!"
The cloaked figure said calmly, "What he gave me, you cannot give."
Gao Fugui was taken aback and couldn't help but ask, "What did Yang Zheng give you?"
A kind gesture brings a piece of bread.
Gao Fugui suddenly felt that the whole thing was too absurd.
bona fide?
bread?
In chaotic times, is this valuable?
Am I really going to lose my life for a act of kindness, for a piece of bread?
I don't understand!
Gao Fugui roared, "I'll give you all my money and food! I have enough food to last a year, and countless loaves of bread in my storehouse!"
The figure ignored him.
Suddenly remembering that Yang Zheng's daughter was still lying in the room, Gao Fugui rushed into the room and towards the girl who had already sat up after hearing the noise.
Gao Fugui grabbed her, thinking that as long as he had this girl in his hands, he could gain leverage in negotiations.
Whoosh!
Cold Light flashed in the room.
Gao Fugui screamed and fell to the ground, his thigh pierced by a long, thin blade with a sharp spine!
The girl on the ground was startled and quickly stepped back.
Then they saw someone walk in from outside.
Cloak, hood, black hair, red eyes!
The girl was stunned. Wasn't that the survivor she had given food to on the first floor of the mall that evening?
Then the red-eyed man said, "You're still alive."
"So, do you want revenge?"
The girl looked at Gao Fugui and listened as the man said, "This man's surname is Gao. I think you should know who he is."
"Yes, his name is Gao Fugui."
"The person who broke into your house, killed your father, and brought you here is his dog."
Snap!
A pistol was thrown in front of the girl.
The girl looked up and heard the man say, "When I got there, Yang Zheng was already dead."
"I couldn't save him, but now all I can do is give you a chance for revenge."
"Consider it repayment for the bread."
