Preparing for Battle
Upon seeing the convoy, Yang Tao was initially startled, but then calmed down.
She observed the situation while simultaneously contacting Yang Hao.
"What's wrong, Little Taozi?"
Yang Hao was eating an apple in the car. Those who knew him well knew that Yang Hao was ruthless and heartless.
The reason why Yang Tao, who is also from the "Old Yang Family," is so "approachable" is entirely because of Chi Gui.
Yang Tao's voice came through the communicator.
"I saw a convoy, and judging from the vibrations on the ground, there was at least one Tank vehicle in it."
"Judging from the speed at which the dust is moving, the convoy is traveling at a limited speed, probably only about twenty kilometers per hour."
"The problem is, they seem to be heading towards the Coyote Camp."
If it were just the convoy, Yang Hao would think this little guy was making a fuss over nothing.
After all, this is on the surface; it's normal to have convoys. Every camp and base has several vehicles.
But the presence of Tank vehicle inside makes it more complicated.
Tanks aren't something that just anyone or any camp or base can get their hands on these days.
These are military products; unless you're a major power, you simply can't get your hands on a tank.
To acquire tanks, one would need at least Surface Base of the level found near a restricted Forbidden Land.
But there is no similar base nearby.
"Knew."
"I'll inform Li Yu right now."
"You managed to find out the composition of that convoy."
From the treetop, Yang Tao said "okay" and then put away her binoculars.
Then, using the secret technique ' Nether Gate Opening ', he concealed his aura and used the flowers, plants, and trees as cover.
They chased after the convoy.
The convoy was moving slowly.
Yang Tao quickly caught up.
Knowing she was a novice, she didn't dare get too close, lest she be spotted by the people in the convoy.
Even so, Yang Tao quickly figured out the composition of the team.
The convoy didn't have many vehicles.
There was an old-fashioned tank, one in front and one behind, with a soldier sitting on each tank.
The soldiers would occasionally pick up their binoculars to observe their surroundings and scout out the situation nearby.
This made the Yang Tao, hidden in the bushes, hide itself even more deeply.
There were two tanks in front and behind, and several heavy trucks in the middle. Looking into the truck beds, you could see that they were full of soldiers.
Some of the soldiers were chatting, while others were checking their weapons. Yang Tao estimated that there were at least a hundred soldiers in those trucks.
Finally, there were several modified off -SUV, the most common vehicles on the ground, each equipped with an anti-aircraft machine gun. This powerful and fast-firing weapon was a nightmare for infantry.
None of the vehicles or soldiers had any obvious markings.
It's unclear which faction owns it.
But their route was very clear: they were heading straight for the Coyote Camp.
In the old Coyote Camp, dealing with this convoy might have been a real headache.
But now, with the support of the ' Red Gate ', the camp is developing rapidly.
Both human resources and hardware facilities have been greatly improved.
In particular, to prevent 'Yellow Springs' retaliation, the camp has set up many traps and minefields in the outer area over the past few months, enhancing its defenses.
Despite facing such a convoy, the Coyote Camp can still defeat them.
The problem is...
Who knows if there are other convoys behind them?
Yang Tao lay motionless in the bushes until the convoy had driven away, at which point she crawled out.
The girl, her face covered in grass blades, quickly contacted Yang Hao to report her discovery.
Coyote Camp.
Li Yu and Liu Si walked quickly across the square.
Liu Si, with shoulder-length short hair and a rifle slung over his shoulder, said as he walked, "According to the information provided by Yang Hao, that convoy should arrive at our camp in about two hours."
Li Yu said coldly, "Two tanks, over a hundred soldiers, and three to five SUV."
"This team is no match for us."
"My concern is that this team is just the vanguard."
"If there are other strong teams behind us, then we're in trouble."
Liu Si followed closely behind him and asked, "Are you worried that this is someone from 'Huang Quan'?"
"I can't think of any other possibility besides them."
"We've either wiped out the nearby camps or taken over their areas."
"They are simply incapable of resisting us."
"Therefore, it can only be 'the Yellow Springs'."
As Li Yu spoke, he had already entered a warehouse.
This is the mech warehouse, where two older model mechs that ' Dark Blood ' transported from the Undercity are being assembled.
Currently, only the legs have been assembled.
Li Yu found the head of the mecha repair team. They were transferred from ' Dark Blood ' and temporarily employed by the Coyote Camp. In addition to assembling the mechas, they were also responsible for subsequent maintenance.
"Engineer Zhou, how much longer until the mecha is assembled?" Li Yu asked quickly as he entered.
Zhou Xiong, the mecha maintenance team leader and a Mecha Engineer, was sitting in a chair indulging in a cigarette.
Hearing Li Yu's voice, he quickly responded.
"It's still early; the legs have only just been assembled."
"It will take at least a few more days to fully assemble."
"Then there will be debugging and checks; it will take at least two weeks before we can pilot the mech."
"What, are you going to drive now?"
"Didn't they say that Mister Chen's training wouldn't officially begin for a few days? If it starts with a beginner, it would probably take three to five months before anyone can pilot a mecha, right?"
Li Yu shook his head. "It has nothing to do with Mister Chen. I'm worried that there will be fighting in the camp next."
"I was hoping that if the mechs could be assembled quickly, they could become part of our fighting force."
Zhou Xiong paused for a moment, then shook his head. "That won't work, it definitely won't be done in the next few days."
"Even if I work day and night with my brothers, it will still take at least a week."
Li Yu looked into the depths of the warehouse and said, "Hurry up, I'll think of another way."
Zhou Xiong threw away his cigarette butt and said, "What's wrong? Something big has happened?"
"Possibly."
But you don't need to worry too much.
"Mister Red Ghost has arrived at our camp; he should be alright."
Li Yu offered him a few words of comfort, then walked out of the warehouse with Liu Si.
Liu Si said, "I have already informed Mister Red Ghost. Mister Red Ghost is on his way and will arrive no earlier than tomorrow."
Li Yu nodded. "So today, we can only rely on ourselves."
"Notify Yang Hao and tell him to come back as soon as possible."
"Those supplies and camp residents, if we can't bring them back, we'll abandon them for now."
"Otherwise, if the camp is gone, those people and supplies will be useless."
Liu Si nodded, took out his communicator, and began calling Yang Hao.
Li Yu then went to mobilize the soldiers in the camp and to notify the Iron Horse mercenaries stationed there.
The Coyote Camp began to bustle with activity, like a sophisticated machine, as each component started to operate and the machine entered its working state.
Two hours later.
Standing in the camp's defensive fortifications, Li Yu could already see the dust rising from the wilderness ahead.
And at the very front of that convoy, the deep muzzle of the cannon on the camouflaged Tank vehicle.
