Richard left the Long-haired Woman's group, speeding all the way until he finally came to a stop atop a tree in the forest.
Looking back in the direction where the Long-haired Woman's group was, Richard pondered. Based on some of the things the Long-haired Woman had said earlier, he could determine that the Ancient Ruins lay somewhere along this stretch of the Soma Alliance's western border. Excluding the vast area in the direction of White Valley, there were roughly a dozen fairly likely locations across the remaining three directions.
If he wanted to, he could certainly hurry to those places and investigate them himself.
But then again, he trusted his own conclusion more: opening the Ancient Ruins definitely required both the Red Seal and the Blue Seal. Only then could the writing on the seals be explained.
In that case, the Long-haired Woman's group was destined to fail in their exploration and return to seek his cooperation.
All he had to do was wait. There was no need to waste any extra effort.
Of course, he could take a more extreme approach—snatch the Blue Seal from the Long-haired Woman's group and open the Ancient Ruins by himself.
However, from his brief contact with them, he could tell that the Long-haired Woman's group was far from ordinary. Though he could not determine their exact Wizard ranks, they were certainly not weak. Furthermore, they clearly possessed information he did not know, while he did not have any particularly intense desire for the contents of the Ancient Ruins. He only wanted to use them as research references.
All things considered, cooperating with them was the more trouble-free choice.
That raised a problem.
