Tinwood looked at the bizarre creatures, his feelings somewhat complicated.
"Roar!"
But the tens of thousands of bizarre creatures gave him no time to think. With strange cries, they lunged at him.
Tinwood's expression changed. First came reluctance, then calm. Fine. Looks like I really am going to die here. As a High-Level Lifeform, he absolutely did not want to die like this. But then again, dying might be for the best. At least he would not have to face that brat Richard or answer for his own negligence and mistakes.
That would settle everything once and for all.
After he was dead, who cared if the world flooded?
Then let him die!
Tinwood abruptly raised both arms and charged toward the oncoming bizarre creatures. As for Annie and the other two behind him, he could no longer be bothered to protect them. In their current situation, death was certain anyway. Dying sooner or later made little difference.
Then, at that moment, the sky flashed.
A streak of white light swept in from the far-off sky, flashing once as it rapidly drew closer. In the blink of an eye, it reached overhead and turned into a dazzling sun amid the night.
Boom!
The sun fell. The sun crashed down heavily, slamming into the densest cluster of bizarre creatures.
Rumble!
A tremendous explosion erupted. In an instant, bizarre creatures within nearly a hundred meters were swallowed by dense white light. Then a terrifying Energy Storm howled outward, disrupting the formation of every bizarre creature and sending the beetles directing them from the sky plummeting to the ground like dumplings tossed into a pot. The scene descended into chaos.
Tinwood froze and slowly lowered his arms. At first, he felt somewhat relieved, but then he felt that relief had come too early.
