Unlike Reef Rock Fortress, this city was not a Military City and had never undergone special modifications for war. When facing an attacking army, its only large-scale defensive measure was its city walls.
And city walls were difficult to defend.
After all, this world had Magic-armored Knights like tanks, as well as Wizards who could fly.
Thus, without spending much time at all, the Alliance army successfully breached the city.

The Alliance had charged madly in the previous battle. Though they had won, their casualties had not been light. In addition, many had gone to pursue the defeated Sika forces, leaving only a small portion to participate in the street fighting. This made the initial progress of the street battle extremely slow.
