Rumble—
A tremendous roar rang out in the night, spreading through nearly all of Xia Ya City.
Xia Ya City's official reception compound, Richard's courtyard.
In the second-floor study, Richard had just seen Oscar off. Hearing the sound, he swiftly raised his head, sensed something, rose, and walked to the window to look toward where it had come from.
Boom!
Bang!
Thud!
Only seconds after the first explosion, several more booms followed, no weaker than the first—loud and abrupt.
Richard judged that this was undoubtedly a battle at the level of a Level 4 Wizard, perhaps even an intense clash involving several Level 4 Wizards. Every boom represented a collision of destructive power. The energy fluctuations unleashed by those clashes were strong enough to travel through the air all the way to him, with some remnants still remaining.
Richard felt somewhat moved... Xia Ya City was truly becoming more and more chaotic. A battle like this had actually broken out. It seemed he really could not stay any longer; leaving as soon as possible was the wise choice.
The explosions had appeared suddenly and vanished just as quickly. After ringing out several times, all movement abruptly disappeared into the night along with the final boom. The residual energy fluctuations quickly dispersed as well, as though nothing had happened.
Richard gathered his thoughts. He had no intention of investigating the battle, because he still had his own matters to handle. He turned and looked beside the desk.
Four chairs stood scattered beside the desk, with four people seated on them: Pandora, Bi Bi, Lich Old Man A Fu, and Eight-Armed Skeleton A Nan.
Each of them held a scroll with different contents written on it. After finishing their reading, they put the scrolls down one after another and looked over.
